One night, last semester I could not sleep soundly. The night passed as I tossed and turned in bed. I could only remember one of the numerous dreams I had in the night. The dream was based on activities in a birthday party I had attended, and we enjoyed all kinds of finger-leaking food and drinks. I woke up extremely jovial and related the dream to my father. He gazed at me as he shook his head and told me that it was a horrible dream, and I advised me to take care of my activities during the day. To me the dream seemed joyful, and I could not attach any horror experience to it. I took a bath and was ready for school. Our house-help has already prepared my breakfast- bacon and tea. I hurriedly took the breakfast on my left hand and held the teapot in the right hand as I walked to the dining room. Accidentally, my foot was caught in a cloth that lied on the floor, and I lost balance and fell over. The teapot and the plate smashed into pieces with the bread landing on a heap of dust that had been swept that morning. I had to go to school hungry since there was no more breakfast in the house. However, the previous weekend my uncle for helping him in cleaning his car had paid me some money. There I was sure I would buy something to eat when I got to school. Since I always have early lectures every Monday, I had to hurry up. I rushed to the bus stop so that I may catch a bus to the university. I was not lucky since as I approached the bus stop, the university bus was rolling out of the bus stop after waiting for me for some time. As an option, I had to catch a bus that would drop me at the gate of the school. I hurriedly got into a bus that was at the stop. It had not yet gotten into my senses that this day was the most unfortunate day of my life. We were almost two kilometers to the university when one of the rear tires busted. It was the most scaring experience I have ever had. The bus landed into a ditch as almost everyone cried for help. Luckily, I escaped with no injury. However, I lost my school bag in the process. I was already late for my first lesson. I even wondered how I could have attended it without my bag, which I believe was in the ditch. I hanged around the lecture hall so that I may catch up with the activities of the day. It is at this time that the horror of horror struck. My best friend approached me and confronted me “Have you submitted your assignment?” I could not remember that I had my assignment in the lost school bag. My lecturer had no chance to listen to my flaw. All I believed is that I had committed the worst mistake of my academic life. I approached the lecturer after the lecture pleading with him as I explained my situation. He warned me against late submission of the assignment but allowed me to submit it in the afternoon. The challenge was how I would handle the assignment under extensive mental pressure. Little did I know that my bad day had indeed arrived. The security officer at the entrance was new to the job, and he had to be as strict as his calling demands. When I handed him the card, he asked me to look up as he compared my face with the picture in the card. He could clearly tell that I was not the owner of the card. He held my hand directing me to the library director’s office. The administrator had heard of the habit but had not confirmed of its existence. Little did I understand that I was to become a clear example to the other students. He took me through the regulations of the library and informed me that I should not use another student’s card to enter to the library. Following the incidence, I was expelled from the institution for two weeks, and I had to put up with the agony of my dream. When I got home, I could not explain what had happened during the day. My father had predicted my day would be bad if I were not keen. However, the unfortunate rolled the day, making it the worst day of my life.

English Essay on “The Day Everything Went Wrong” English Essay-Paragraph-Speech for Class 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 CBSE Students and competitive Examination.

The Day Everything Went Wrong

I won’t forget that black Wednesday when things went wrong one after another with me. On Tuesday, I came from school with heavy assignment of mathematics home work. That night I could not miss my favourite movie and quiz programme on T.V. I thought that I would get up at 4 a.m. and finish the task. I was out of luck. There was power failure just as I was picking up my exercise book. I tried to finish the job in the morning light when the dawn broke. I worked feverishly yet got delayed in the process. Somehow I ran to the bus stop with my back pack on. The bus had gone. I decided to run to the school. Only a few strides had I taken when a banana peel sent me cart wheeling in the air and crash down. My ankle got twisted and I returned home wobbling. I had to stay in bed for two days. I cursed my luck when I learnt that mathematics teacher had taken leave on that day due to illness.

The Day Everything Changed: Narrative Essay

It was 11:58 p.m. on June 28, 2020. I was 15 years old at the time. I had been checking my phone repeatedly waiting for that text. That one text that would change things forever. I sat there anxiously awaiting the high-pitched ding that would fill my soul with immense feelings of anger and regret. I slumped down on my grandma’s bed and with every adjustment of my body, a creaking sound would follow. I let out a sigh of distress as I felt a single warm tear roll down my right cheek. My face began to feel hot, and the color red began to replace the white ivory that once was my complexion. Ding. There it was. I had racked my brain wondering how I could prevent such an awful sound. I could have turned my phone off. I could have silenced my ringer. I could have done something – anything to avoid that sound. An unbearable weight, grief, sat upon my chest and resulted in a kind of pain that could only be explained through the fall of a tear or a quiver of a lip. I lifted the phone that lay next to me on that creaky bed. “She’s gone.” Those weren’t the only words on the screen but they were certainly the only ones that mattered. No advice or encouragement could have prepared me for the passing of my aunt.

The weeks following her death seemed to mesh together in an endless cycle of futility– nothing seemed to matter. The trees weren’t as green as I remembered. The cool breeze that filled my shirt on a hot June day didn’t feel as relieving as before. My aunt’s death impacted me more than my teenage brain could even begin to understand. I often wondered how things would ever get better and my life could return to the normalcy I craved. But, even though life seemed dark at the time, light awaited me at the end of the tunnel.

Looking back on my Aunt Cathy’s honorable life gave me peace of mind during that difficult time. At birth, my aunt was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease called Epstein anamoly. This sickness caused fluid to build up in her heart and caused a variety of complications. The doctors informed her parents that she would not make it past a couple months of age. When her first birthday came around, she was told that five years old was as long as she would make it – if she was lucky. This trend of death predictions continued in five-year increments until she reached 68th birthday.

My aunt treated me like a child of her own because she was not able to conceive. Her heart had too much trouble sustaining her own life, therefore it was nearly impossible to sustain another. Because of her trouble conceiving, she treated me as the child she was not given. This provided me with the privilege of looking up to her and her ways. She was the most God-fearing woman that I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. She served the Lord diligently and let the Lord’s light shine through her; brightly, and for all to see. She was patient, loving, kind, and gentle – from the way she spoke, to the way she looked for light in all of life’s struggles.

My Aunt Cathy has taught me that trials should not be taken for granted. In comparison to the rest of my family members, my Aunt lived a relatively short life.  In that time, I never heard her complain about the daily pain she endured. Just like my aunt, we all have a mortal body and it will fail eventually. This supplies life with all of its beauty. My Aunt Cathy showed me that life should not be taken for granted because it is temporary. I don’t have unlimited time on this earth and that’s what makes it so cherishable. I won’t always be able to wake up and form memories with loved ones. I won’t always have the ability to hug your parents before going to school or a sleepover. Being able to hop out of bed without pain or aches in my body is a luxury that I are not guaranteed in the future. It is a miracle that I have the opportunity to experience all life has to offer. My aunt was a living and breathing example of this because despite her health complications, she held onto the faith that the Lord had a greater purpose for her pain.

My aunt’s struggles with pregnancy led to her calling to help others who battled with the same thing. When my aunt was around the age of 30 years old, she got a job at a pregnancy clinic that helped young women in her area support their children. This is a beautiful example of how the Lord turned my Aunt Cathy’s pain into a greater purpose. She could not have a child, so she walked alongside women who could.

The passing of my aunt has taught me to seek much joy out of life and not take the pain I may endure for granted. Just like my aunt Cathy, I have the power to make an impact on someone’s life that goes beyond my mortal body. All trials and tribulations that I have yet to endure, all work for a greater good. I am grateful for having someone like my Aunt Cathy in my life showing me that, I too, can live a life that leaves a lasting impact on the people around me.

Essay On A Day When Everything Went Wrong

  • Post category: Essay
  • Reading time: 5 mins read

It was the tenth of March. The day everythink went wrong with me. It is generally believed that thirteen is an unlucky number. But my experiences on the tenth of March of a certain year made me feel that I was right in considering ten as an unlucky number and not thirteen.

That day I had to get up earlier than usual. | wanted to revise my lessons before going for my exam. My alarm clock did not ring. I remained asleep. I suddenly woke up when it was bright. The room was flooded with light. I jumped out of bed at 7 a. m. I had only half an hour to get ready and catch the bus to go to school.

I dressed in a hurry and went to swallow a glass of milk. There was no time for break-fast. Picking up my-books, I rushed to the bus-stop. I found that the school bus had just left. I had to wait for the public bus. That meant a further delay. At long last, the bus came but it took only two passengers. I was third in the queue. I begged of the conductor to take me in, but he refused. He pushed me out when I tried to enter the bus forcibly. I fell on the road. All my books were scattered about. I felt very unhappy and, humiliated. I picked up my books, and waited for the next bus.

The next bus took me to school ten minutes late. The teacher shouted at me as I tried to enter the class. He sent me to the Principal. The Principal scolded me for coming late. I had already lost thirty minutes. I would not be able to finish my paper as was going to start late.

The paper was given to me. I found it difficult to write anything. In my nervousness, I had forgotten everything. I gave up a blank paper. The whole day went badly for me.

I returned home unhappy in the evening. My elder brother met me at the gate. He said that my fouryear-old brother had fallen and hurt himself very badly. He had probably fractured his arm.

My mother was very upset. My little brother had been admitted to the hospital. Thus the entire day was unlucky for me. I hope I shall never have such a bad day in my life again.

Essay on a Day When Everything Went Wrong

It was a day etched in my memory forever – a day when nothing seemed to go right, and the world felt like it was conspiring against me. From the moment I woke up, a series of unfortunate events unfolded, turning what should have been an ordinary day into a challenging ordeal.

The day began with me oversleeping, thanks to a malfunctioning alarm clock. Rushing through my morning routine, I realized I had run out of toothpaste and shampoo. Frustrated, I hastily improvised with whatever little was left in the bottles, leaving me feeling less than refreshed.

As I rushed to catch the bus, I tripped and fell, scraping my knee and tearing my favourite pair of jeans. My mood plummeted further as I boarded the crowded bus, only to realize that I had left my wallet at home. I stood there, feeling embarrassed and helpless, unable to pay for the fare.

Arriving late at school, I faced the wrath of my teacher, who scolded me for my tardiness and unkempt appearance. The day seemed to drag on, with every class feeling longer than the last. I struggled to concentrate, feeling like I was in a fog of misfortune.

During lunchtime, I dropped my tray, causing food to spill all over the cafeteria floor. The stares and laughter from my classmates only added to my humiliation. The day had become a parade of embarrassments, each one more demoralizing than the last.

As the final bell rang, signalling the end of the school day, I hoped that the worst was behind me. However, fate had other plans. On my way home, a sudden downpour soaked me to the bone. I sought refuge in a nearby café, only to realize that I had forgotten my umbrella at school. Feeling defeated, I watched as my bus drove away, leaving me stranded in the pouring rain.

With no other option, I decided to walk home. But the rain seemed to intensify with each step I took. By the time I reached my doorstep, I was drenched, exhausted, and utterly miserable.

Upon entering the house, I hoped for some comfort and normalcy. Instead, I found that the power had gone out due to the storm. Darkness enveloped the house, and I stumbled around, trying to find a flashlight or candles.

Sitting in the dim candlelight, I reflected on the events of the day. It seemed like a comedy of errors, a day filled with misfortunes beyond my control. I felt overwhelmed by frustration and despair, wondering why everything had gone so wrong.

But as the evening wore on, I realized that despite the challenges, I had made it through the day. I had faced a string of unfortunate events, but I had persevered. The day taught me resilience and the ability to find humour in life’s absurdities.

As the power eventually returned, and the storm subsided, I felt a sense of relief and gratitude. The day had been a rollercoaster of emotions, but it had also taught me valuable lessons. I learned that sometimes life throws curveballs, and not every day will go as planned. However, it is our attitude and determination that define how we navigate through those difficult times.

In conclusion, the day when everything went wrong was an unforgettable experience that tested my patience, resilience, and ability to find humour in adversity. It reminded me that life is unpredictable, and setbacks are a part of the journey. While the day had its share of misfortunes, it also became a valuable lesson in embracing life’s uncertainties with a positive outlook and unwavering determination.

Extract of sample "A Day When Everything Takes a Wrong Turn"

A day when everything went wrong Abstract:             This essay relates one of my personal experiences when I could not control anything from taking a wrong turn due to which I was subjected to face grave consequences. Everyone faces some of those days when one bad thing leads to another bad thing and if this progression is left uncontrolled, one is left to deal with the problematic consequences for many days.  A day when everything went wrong:             There are necessarily some days in everyone’s life in which everything takes a wrong turn leaving one helpless and paralyzed at the grave losses and their problematic consequences.

Actually, this is a fact that there is usually one factor that leads to a series of problems that one is left to face in a single day. I myself remember one such day when I could not get a hold on my bad temper as a result of which literally everything that day slipped out of my hands right in front of my eyes. In most of the cases, a person experiences some seriously unpleasant issue in the morning that leads to a perturbed mood and morose behavior. If one is not able to control those resentful feelings at the very start, then the whole day is guaranteed to be spent in a thoroughly distasteful manner.

I experienced this highly memorable day when I was in high school. I got up in the morning slightly late for school with a swinging headache. Slowly, I managed to go downstairs for a hurried breakfast when it hit my mind that I had my English literature paper that day which was set to start just after ten minutes. When I finally got a hold on myself after a minute, I anxiously left for the college in a rush only to find half an hour later that I was not allowed to sit in the exam hall at any cost.

The price I was bound to pay for getting late for the exam was to be in the form of a re-exam that could have stopped me from progressing in the next year as well. No amount of pleading affected the professor in charge of course and so, I was left heavily disturbed and perplexed. Appalling concerns regarding my future started to haunt me in the most terrible way and since I happen to have a weak heart, I easily succumbed to the horror of depression. My temper also started to gain speed with the rising depression, and I developed the most morose aura that did not help me feel any better.

I should not have let one bad thing to progress to another even worse thing but the depression was influencing me so horribly that I was really left lamenting over the loss uncontrollably. I was required to mail an important assignment to another professor on a fixed time, which I forgot completely and was reminded about it by my friend a few hours later. On hearing this news, a strong wave of failure and disappointment hit me, which rapidly transformed in the feelings of low self-esteem and aggression, and I blew up on my friend right there knocking him down to the ground in a fit of rage.

As a result of this unjustified projection of my feelings on my friend, I received another penalty from my professor which prevented me from entering the premises of my college for a whole week.             Summing up, this much becomes clear that one is never totally helpless in controlling those particular days when fate seems to be going against one’s will. If one bad thing happens for a particular reason, that reason should be scrutinized so that more problems could be avoided instead of lamenting over the loss and letting everything get out of control.

The Day in Which Everything Went Wrong

The Day in Which Everything Went Wrong

The author recounts a particularly unlucky day in their life, which occurred last September. It started with them waking up late and missing their bus, forcing them to walk to school. They stepped in a muddy puddle, ruining their uniform and shoes. They arrived late to class, where they were scolded by their strict teacher for not having their Mathematics homework. During recess, they discovered they forgot their wallet at home and had to borrow money from a friend. The food they bought was bad, and they ended up spraining their ankle while playing football with friends after school. They had to walk on crutches for two weeks and were scolded by their father for being careless. The day was finally over, and the author was relieved to go to bed.

I will never forget the day in which everything went wrong in my life. Everything that could go wrong did. The cursed day was sometime in September last year. Firstly, I woke up late in the morning because my alarm clock did not ring. So I missed the bus to school and had to walk to school instead. I dislike walking to school because there were many dogs in my neighbourhood and some of them were very fierce. As I was walking to school, I accidentally stepped on a puddle of water on the road.

It was a puddle of muddy water, so the splash made my uniform wet, dirty and smelly. My shoes and socks were also soaked in muddy water. I thought that was enough to ruin my entire day. When I finally reached my school, I quickly entered my class. My teacher scolded me because I was late and my clothes were dirty. I made her even angrier when I told her I left my Mathematics homework at home. She was very strict teacher and expected all her students to hand up their work on time everyday. Therefore, she was very upset. She also shouted at me.

ready to help you now

Without paying upfront

It was so embarrassing to be scolded by a teacher in front of the entire class. I have never been shouted at by a teacher before. Some of my classmates laughed at me. Soon, it was recess time. I realized that I left my wallet at home. So I borrowed some money from my friend. I decided to buy a bowl of noodles. My bad luck streak continue because the fish balls were bad. So I did not eat the fish balls but I finished the noodles because I was angry. After eating the bowl of noodles, I felt thirsty but I did not have enough money to buy myself a glass of water, so I drank some water from the tap.

Finally, the bell rang and school was dismissed. I was relieved that the day was over because so many bad things had happened. Then, my friends asked me to play football with them in the field after school. I joined them as I needed to relieve my stress. After half an hour of playing, there was a slight accident on the field. My friend was running after the ball so was I . We both collided and fell. I ended up with a sprained ankle. I limped all the way home because nobody could give me a lift that evening.

It was very painful and I hated the thought of having to walk with a limb for the next few weeks. Furthermore, I could not play football with my friends. When I was home, my mother took me to the clinic. The doctor said that I should be more careful when I play football next time and that I had to walk with crutches for the next two weeks. When my father came home at dinner time, he scolded me for being so clumsy and careless. I went straight to bed after dinner. I was exhausted and in pain. As I snuggled into my pillow that night, I heaved a sigh of relief that the day was finally over.

Descriptive Essay Topic – A Day When Everything Went Wrong In School

A Day When Everything Went Wrong In School. You Can Find Previous Year Descriptive Essay Topics Asked In ICSE Board Exams.

Introduction: A day that one would like to forget for nothing good happened that day.

  • Got up late in the morning for the half yearly exams
  • Prepared for the wrong subject
  • Punished for coming late

Conclusion: Even now have nightmare of that day when everything went wrong at school.

A day in school is normally like any other day, but there is a day that one would like to forget, for nothing good happens that day. Even now recalling it gives me nightmares. Last year in the midst of the half yearly examinations, I got up late in the morning. My head felt dizzy because of sleeping late the previous night, preparing for the English Language test.

Looking at the alarm clock left me pale. I had just ten minutes to board the school bus. I scrambled from bed, completed my daily chores in a jiffy. I had barely put on my trousers, when the horn of the school bus sounded. Clutching my bag, I hounded out of the driveway, but to my dismay the bus was nowhere in sight. Rushing back, I entreated my father to drop me to school in his car. He grudgingly agreed, after giving me a pep talk on being careless.

I reached school twenty minutes late, and was immediately ticked off by the monitor, who asked me to stay back after school as punishment. I took this in my stride, cursing my ill stars for the humiliation. On reaching the classroom, I took my seat and settled down for the test. The Question paper left me dumbstruck.

Was I hallucinating? I pinched myself to see if I was in my senses. Yes I was. I glanced at my wrist watch, it was indeed the 1st of September but the test slated was not English but Maths. The earth seemed to slip under my feet as I tried to come to terms with this catastrophe. Maths itself was my achilles heel, but to give a test without preparation was indeed a nightmare. I however gathered my wits and began to attempt the questions with trembling hands.

After two hours the ordeal was finally over. I had vision of a sound whacking, that was in store for me. I was morose throughout the lunch recess. My friend Arvind first laughed at my foolishness, but later comforted me allaying my fears. To add salt to injury, I was made to stand outside the class, for not bringing the Science book. I heaved a sigh of relief on hearing the toll of the school bell.

But alas! I had to stay back for detention, which meant catching a public bus to reach home. The journey in the bus was another shattering experience. It was packed to capacity and I could barely stand on my feet throughout the journey. A year has passed but I still have nightmare of that day, when everything went wrong at school. Recalling it sends a shiver down my spine.

I am so glad that today is over. So many things have gone wrong! For some, I was the very tired reason I did not sleep a wink last night. I was very tired when Mum called me this morning. I fell asleep again until Mum called me again. That snooze made me late. I did not have time for breakfast. I was starving as I ran to catch the school bus. I just missed it. Mum had to drive me to school. She was late for an important meeting and she was furious with me. She scolded me for being late. I got to school on time. The teacher asked us to hand in our essays. My essay was not in my bag. I had forgotten to put it in my bag the night before. I usually check my bag the night before. I usually check my bag in the morning. I did not do this because I was late I had to write an extra essay as a punishment. After the punishment, I did not tie my shoelace properly. I tripped over it and fell down the stairs. I hurt my knee and had to have a bandage on it. What a terrible day! I hope that I have a much better one tomorrow.

Taken for granted, by me, are so many things. We don't plan for the unexpected things that occur from day to day. Then, in the blink of an eye, something horrendous happens and your life is never the same again. I was confronted with this when I received the shocking news, my breath was taken away and a sob was caught deep within my very soul. The unwanted yet undeniable w?ords, telling me my cousin Johnny was dead. I so often seem to be immobilized by that moment. "He played life to the fullest, and without regret, he bet it all and braved the fall". For me, that is the day everything went wrong.

Ray and Jerilynn, My parents and my daughter, Alexa live in Costa Mesa, California. My Mothers sister Aunt Carole and Uncle Lenny, Karen,

Joe and Johnny my cousins live about a block away. I, myself had been living in Newport Beach, California, about 5 miles away. Regardless I saw them all, most every day.

I can still feel the humidity on my skin and in my hair on that very dark day. It was August 26th, 2009, my Cousin Johnny’s 43rd birthday. I was at my parent’s house kickin’ around some ideas for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend party that we always had. A big celebration always but it was my cousin Johnny's birthday as well. So much happiness and so many hopes and dreams! Freeze-frame - We were interrupted by a phone call from my Aunt Carole. My Mother was so happy, but then she always is. She had picked up the phone, dead silence so intense, you could feel it.

have always been able to feel before anything real came to be. I knew almost immediately, before my picture perfect beautiful Mother turned the color of

Cadaver white, something was very wrong! My Mom started to cry and yelled “No, oh my God, no", choked by tears, "Is he ok? What happened? She asked? Thinking my uncle Lenny… or…something happened. She was saying "No, oh my God, no". Over and over and over again. Finally I managed the words “What is going on? Mom what is it”? It was then she choked out the terrible news, my cousin Johnny had a terrible accident .An accident at the river in Arizona. He had gone there with some friends to celebrate his 43 birthday. Diving off the cliff that he has dived off, so many times before.

Copper Canyon, it was called. 200 feet down and missed by a foot. To his death. Just 12 inches away, 12 inches from the water. Unbelievable! I was paralyzed with by emotions. Everyone sitting there with a blank look on their faces. My first thought was that there had been a mistake that it was all a misunderstanding. Johnny was still alive and in the hospital hurt. To my complete horror I was so very wrong.

My Mother and Father rushed to be by my Aunt Carole's side in her time of need. My Mother, She hugged me and said "I Love you". In a total panic, my parents left. I was alone at this time. So very alone all by myself to deal with all these emotions that I had. I am standing in the Middle of the family room now the

words, the images, the HORROR! Blinded by rage and all that is not right! The hole in my heart, without my Johnny, my cousin, my protector and the big brother that I never had! GOD he really is gone. The moment was so science fiction –B movie BAD! Crying uncontrollably, realizing I will never get to see or talk to my cousin again. A laugh that I will never hear again I was so empty and without feeling. It was as if I had been trapped in a void? All the memories, heartfelt. Johnny was truly a free spirit.

It is so strange to think just a few hours ago we were planning Johnny's birthday party and in a split second everything changed and now we are planning to bury him on his birthday. My mom and Carole had to cal Liz, Johnny's fiancée and got more of the traumatic details about the jump that took Johnny's life. Liz was just told she was pregnant with Johnny's baby. This baby would never get to meet his or her daddy, nor would this baby ever know what kind of a person he was.

Johnny Kissel – my cousin

A stallion- wild spirit held at bay. Head tossed back -an air of defiance. Galloping on moonbeams and bedding in dreams A stance of power-fearful of no other! A friend to everyone- That was Johnny .That was my cousin… Flared nostrils -teeth of pear could he be real? An enigma not to be compared Excellence at his best. He played life to the fullest and without regret! Restless and introspective he took on waves all over the world with strategic assault- he

beat every challenge that he had been dealt! Until Wet, heat, time slap, thinking to himself "if you don't play, you can't win" Confusion tore down his defenses- But come on psychic awareness along with fairness He had done the jump 3 times before now, how could he miss!

Bring it- intensely bold "Kissel". He could not be bought and certainly not sold. So he braved the fall, and slayed the beast! The finality was tragic. The story Epic! Johnny Kissel will always be remembered as uncontrollable-intriguing and eternal magic. Don't take your life or the lives of the people you love for granted. At any given moment everything can change. I can only go forward with my life now and make the best of every day have a purpose and with reason. This is what I strive for, I am sorry that I had to lose my cousin Johnny to realize this.

From getting out of bed I realised it was going to be an unlucky day for me.First i stumbled over some clothes that were next to my bed. After i got dressed and prepared to get ready I went to have some tea. While I was having my first sip of tea a car horn honked and it gave me a fright. The next thing I knew was that I had tea all over me and I was dirty.I couldn't catch the van as I was late because it was already it was already nine o'clock. When I arrived at school i realised that I had the wrong uniform and everybody made a fun of me.I recieved a panishment for arriving late and because of the uniform. I was miserable when I got home .I started my homework without looking at my diary. When i looked into it halfway through my homework I realised that I had done another page. Finally it was time for bed.I thought that the day was finally over but as I was reading a book the light went off.I heard someone calling me and I felt terrified. But it was only my mum. Before I slept I was relieved that the day had ended. Maylea Portelli

One day early in the morning it was raining cats and dogs and everything started wrong. We had a power cut so my mum and I didn’t wake up on time because our alarms didn’t ring and we were both late. I got dressed in my school uniform but while gobbling up my breakfast I spilled milk on my uniform so I had to go up to my room and change again. I was sure that my school day was ruined. When I arrived at school my friend scattered marbles in the corridor so I fell on them and got a little hurt. When I entered the hall I tried to avoid the headmaster’s eyes so I used the elevator but as the elevator opened, there was the headmaster. He was looking for me all over the school and he was so angry that he gave me a month without a break. I felt miserable. After school my mother came for me. When we arrived home my mother found out that she had left her keys at grandma’s house so grandma had to come over and give us the keys. Although it was not my fault mother gave me a punishment. For lunch mother cooked my least favourite dish YUCK! While I had to eat, my little brother scribbled on my English composition copy-book. Oh, I was so annoyed. At the end of the day after copying all my thick English copy-book and doing homework I was exhausted, I was relieved when I was ready. That night I had a good sleep hoping that the next day would be better. Liam Cassar.

Yesterday I woke up late for school because the alarm clock's batteries ran out.I started hollering.I hurriedly put on my uniform.I went to have breakfast but while eating cereal I spilled milk on my uniform so I had to change my clothes. Then I missed the school van.I had to go on foot to school and it was raining cats and dogs. I arrived at school half an hour late. The headmaster told me that I couldn't play during the second break.I went running to the class-room.The teacher looked daggers at me.Finally it was break time.I opened my lunchbox and found that my bread was with cheese and I don't like cheese.I had taken my brother's sandwich by mistake. When it was time for the second break my teacher gave me extra work. When school time was over I hurried to catch the van. When I arrived home I couldn't find the door keys.I thought I had lost them.I waited for half an hour for mum to come while Isat in the garden path. I remembered that I had to attend GirlGuides that day and I had alot of homework. When mum came she asked me why I was sitting there and I told her the story. Finally I started my homework but while I was doing the maths homework I couldn't find the copybook. Finally I was glad that the day was over and I had a warm shower and fell on the bed like a rock. Deborah Calleja.

Last night I set the alarm two hours later by mistake,so, that day I woke up very late in the morning. I hurried up because I was sure that I was. The headmaster gave me a punishment because of getting to school very late and the lessons had already begun. The children looked daggers at me, especially the teacher. I was frustrated too and instead of the uniform I went with the school tracksuit. When the second break had begun, the teacher gave me a break-in and even the next day. I did not watch the game Tornadoes and Tigers and even the next game that my team (Rovers) was playing against Spartans. After school I went home and made a fool of myself because I had two break-ins. I thought I had a punishment even at home but luckily I didn't. My sister scribbled all over my copybook and my cats made a small hole in the same copybook, so I had to begin it all over again. Fortunately, my homework was done a half an hour later. I had the worst day in my life. Things happened the other way round and I never had a day in my life like that again yet. Justin Demanuele

A day when everything went wrong It was early in the morning when I was in bed. All of a sudden I felt something like rain on my face. It was my brother’s prank when I realized a bucket of water was being poured on my face. It was ice-cold and I get up shocked. He quickly ran to the kitchen. I had a shower at once but there no warm water. And I washed with cold water. Then I was going to put on my clothes when I saw that the uniform was half-right and half-dirty. I was going to panic but I realized that I could wear the p.e uniform. After that I went for breakfast. Mum said, “There’s no gas for making tea!”. She was going to prepare me a sandwich when she yelled, “There’s no cheese and ham and thee last bit of butter used by your brother for breakfast”. So I went school without breakfast and normal uniform When I arrived at school my friends said, “A new Hair style?!” Of course I didn’t make my hair at home! We went to the classroom and everyone put his homework on the table. I put mine too but the homework was half-done. I didn’t say anything. We then began the class work. Many of us went to bring their copybooks from the locker. I went too but I found the keys were too hard to open the locker. Then my friend said, “That key is too big for that locker”. I had brought the house keys not the locker ones. When I went home I gave my parents a paper to sign from my teacher. It said that I didn’t locker’s keys and I hadn’t done the full homework. I went to my room I wasn’t sad because I didn’t have any homework to do. I went to play on the computer but it had a virus and no one use it. I was rally miserable now. Plus that my mother gave me some extra work as a punishment. That was one of the unluckiest days of my life. Roderick Micallef.

Last Friday was Friday the thirteenth and I had the worst day of my life.It started as soon as I woke up very late. I was running to school when I fell in a large puddle wetting my school uniform.I had to go back home to change and at this rate I arrived at school extremely late.It was not a stroke of luck when the headmaster saw me entering school that late and I got the worst scolding of my life. Back home we were preparing to go camping for the weekend. After preparing so eagerly and everything was ready we were waiting for dad to load the car with supplies.A few minutes later the front door swung open and dad came rushing in.He told my mother that heavy rain was pouring down and we had to postpone the exciting trip.Seeing us so disappiointed dad decided to take us to the cinema to cheer us up.But the car couldn't start up so the outing to the cinema had to be cancelled as well.I was very angry and disappointed but I couldn't do anything about it. At the end of the day I was relieved that the day was finally over.Hopefully no day will ever be like last Friday .DANIEL CAMILLERI.

A Day When Everything Went Wrong Yesterday I had a bad day because everything went wrong. As usual at 7 o’ clock in the morning my mum came to wake me up for school. I was fast asleep but then at 7:15 my mum came again and bellowed. I woke up with a jump. Then I went to have the breakfast and the tea was cold so I make another cup. I waited for the kettle to boil and after I had the tea. Now it was too hot but my mother told me to drink it up because I was going to be late for school. I went to have a bath before I went to wear the uniform. But I couldn’t find the bow so I started to search for it. After ten minutes searching I found it, then I went to brush my hair and then I was finished. I kissed my mum and went in the garage to get my bicycle. I found that the wheels of the bicycle were flat so I had to walk. At 8:45 I was at school. I was tiptoed so they wouldn’t see me. My heart began to pound as I rushed up the stairs but the headmaster saw me and he began hollering. I went to the office with him and he started asking me questions but I sat stiff as a statue. He frowned at me but I stayed stunned as I was afraid. Then he called my mum and she yelled at me too. I was miserable but it wasn’t my fault so I tried to tell my mum but she didn’t pay attention to what I told her. From that day I started to prepare my uniform from the day before. Now I always set an alarm to ring at 7 o’ clock. Svetlana Borg

I forgot to turn on the alarm clock. In the morning I woke up very late. When I woke up it was already nine o'clock in the morning. I rushed down the stairs to go to school. But then I realized that the bus was not coming now . Mum had to drive me to school but she had lost her keys so I had to walk to school. At school I saw the headmaster waiting for me. He was wearing a black suit,a white shirt and a black tie. He was really angry. I got into class and when i sat down on my chair I fell down. Someone had played a prank on me. It was my best friend and I couldn't believe it. When school finished I got out of the gate . Mum was supposed to fetch herself but instead she was on the phone at home. I waited there for three hours. I had homework to do and study so in the end i had to walk home. At home mum cooked me fish. It was my least favorite dish. I really hated it. I made my homework and then I went to have a bath. T continue ruining the day I slipped in the bath tub. At the end of the day I went up to bed . I felt relieved that the day was over. I prayed that the next day would be much better. Daryl Leigh Schembri.

A day everything went wrong. It was Monday when I woke up and looked at the clock and found it was ten o’clock in the morning.I went to dress up as quick as lightning. Then I ran downstairs to have a cup of tea. After I went to school. When I arrived at school I looked at my watch. It was ten minutes past ten.As soon as I entered school it started raininig. The headmaster became angry and told me to go to the classroom.I obeyed him.As I was going to the classroom I fell down the stairs. The headmaster phoned my mother and she took me to the hospital. At three o’clock the professor came to check me but found nothing wrong with me and told my mum she could take me back home. We got home at half past three and I had to rest on the bed.My best friend brought me the homework and then I started it.At five I fellbed while doing my homework. Then my brother scribbled on my copybook. My eldest sister kept picking on meall the while. At seven o’clock I started feeling really tired. At eight o’clock I felt relieved because that day had just ended and another day has begun.Iwish that I never have to go through another day like that. Roanne Grech

A day when everything went wrong. IT was Wednesday and I woke up with a headache. I went in the kitchen and I spilled the tea on my pyjamas that mum had prepared for me. I had to take a bath but mum forgot to switch on the geyser and I had to take a cold bath. When I was going to wear the uniform I forgot to tell mum that the school uniform was grimy. I went to school late because of the uniform .It was raining cats and dogs and I arrived at school quarter to nine. I ran into school but when I opened the door to school entrance I found myself face to face with the school head master .I felt frightened and my heart began to pound .He shouted at me and he asked me why I was late and I told him every thing. Then he took me to my class and my teacher gave me a bad report. I went home and I gave the bad report to mum to sign. Mum punished me by not letting me play computer games for a week. When I was going upstairs to my room to do homework I fell down the stairs and I hurt my leg. When I started my homework my brother scribbled on my copybook to tease me. I went for revenge and I punched him but he moved and I hit the wall instead and I hurt my finger. At last the day ended .I wish that I won’t have this kind of day again. Now I have learned not to act violently. I wish I will have better days then this. Stefan Portelli

A day when everything went wrong. It was Friday and it was sunny.I got up at seven o' clock.I had only one hour and twenty minutes to go to school. When I got up from bed,I stumbled and fell on the floor.I also hurt my head.I went down the stairs to go to the bathroom. As I was on the last stair I fell once more and I hurt my head again. When I got to the bathroom I remembered that I had forgotten my clothes upstairs so I had to get them. When I arrived at school the headmaster gave me a detention for no reason.I think he was in a bad mood too. When I was in the hall someone pulled a prank on me.He dropped ketchup on my clothes.I had a shock when I found it was my best friend who pulled a prank on me. When I arrived at home I told my mum what happened. She gave a punishment too.As soon as I started my homework,my younger brother started scribbling on the copybook and I had to do it all over.I finished at four o' clock in the evening. When my mum gave me the food I had to eat I found that it was my least favourite food.I asked my little brother if he wanted it.He said yes and ate it in a whole mouthful. When it was time to go to bed I was relieved. It was the unluckiest day I ever had. Dylan Grech

A DAY WHEN EVERYTHING WENT WRONG. Last week I had one of those days where everything went wrong. In the morning my alarm clock rang and I fell off my bed. Then when I went to have breakfast, I bumped against the kitchen door and hurt myself. My mother was supposed to give me a ride to school but we discovered that we had a flat tyre. So I had to go to school on foot. An inconsiderate person drove in a puddle full of mud and all the mud went on my uniform. I was a complete disaster! When I arrived at school I was late. So I tried to avoid my headmaster. When I arrived in my class, I saw the headmaster in my class. He saw me and gave me a punishment, an English composition as extra work. The teacher gave us a surprise test and I had not studied the day before. When we went to correct our homework I realised that I had left it at home and had another punishment from my teacher, an extra Maltese composition. When I got home, I ate my least favourite dish. After eating, I began my homework and when I finished it I left it on my bed. I went to play with my psp. The battery was low and when I went to charge it, the charger was not there because I had left it at my grandma’s. I remembered that I still had to put my homework in the school bag. I now realized that my younger sister had scribbled on my homework copybooks and I had to do it again. In the end of the day I was very angry because a lot of things went wrong that day. I shouted at my sister but my mother told me that she is too young to realize what she did. Finally I went to sleep hoping that this miserable day will never happen again. By Darren Zammit

A Day When Everything Went Wrong It was Friday the 13th of October and during that day everything went wrong. It all started when I woke up late. While I was having breakfast I spilled milk all over me. I arrived at school at 9 o'clock.I had forgotten that we had a Maths test and I didn't study for it!When my teacher came to collect the papers I didn't want to give my teacher my paper but I had to.During art class I couldn't concentrate and I had to bring a mirror with me and broke it!After art we went back to class and my friend balanced a jug of water on the door and it fell on me!!I felt really hurt that my friend did that to me.As for the Maths test,I got a really bad mark!! When I got home I was very happy because my bad luck was going to change,or so I thought.I opened my copybooks and found it full of scribbling! It was my sister.I wanted to kikll her at that moment. When my parents caught me lifting a hand on my sister,I got punished!!I thought that this day couldn't get any worse, but eventually it did.For dinner we were having fish my least favourite dish and I had to eat all of it. I was late for my dancing lessons. When I got home I was relieved that this day was over.I guess it's true what they say that on FRriday 13th you get bad luck!!And it grew all worse at that moment I broke the mirror.

A day when everything wrong. It was a cold wintry morning. I woke up and looked at the alarm clock. Oh no! I was late for school. I skidded to the bathroom, took a shower and as I was going to dress up I slipped in the water. I rushed downstairs and didn't take any breakfast. As I rode my bike I saw a kidergarten kid laughing in my face because I looked that I had been attacked by monkeys. I looked miserable! My tights had holes, and I didn't have a bow-tie and my hair looked like it had a shock. When I arrived at school the headmaster saw me and came shouting right at my face. His cheeks and bald head were red with anger. The headmaster sent me to class and as I entered, some kids giggled and laughed. I was ashamed of myself and wished that something happened so I didn't have to go to school and make a fool of myself. After school I didn't go home by the school transport, to keep away from children as far as possible. When I was walking on the pavement I didn't notice a big hole and I fell. As I entered the gate's hose there was the dogs' litter and I stamped on it. My mum asked me what happened and as I told her, my little brother teased me. He is a little rascal. When I rested my head on the pillow I felt releived and the tension washed away. I wish that it won't happen another day. Celine Abela.

A day when everything went wrong Yesterday it was the most miserable wrong day ever.I don't know why the whole day was a terrible disaster. In the morning,on the way to school,my mum had a flat tyre. There was a long nail on our way. I arrived at school half an hour late.I had never heard the headmaster shouting so much. When i arrived in class they were doing maths correction.I had also forgotten my homework on the desk and even my religion copybook. My social studies workbook was under my school desk too.My teacher had frowned, said nothing but he wrote on my mum a note. I went to my grandma. On my way home i slipped on a rock.Nothing could not go worse. When mum came and read the letter she shouted much more than anyyone could ever shout. She hollered and hollered. After I went sulking to my bedroom.I found the worst dish on the kitchen table. It was pasta full of mushrooms.Even if i talk about them they are so stinky. I don't want another day like this.I made a fool of myself and i don't like people saying tha i'm carless because that isn't like me. naomi mallia

Last Monday everything went wrong. The day started by waking up late for school. My mum was preparing my breakfast but I didn`t eat it because I was late. My mum told me that instead of going by bus she was driving me to school. We were half way there when my mum had a flat tyre. When I arrived at school I tried to keep out of sight from the headmaster but unfortunately he saw me coming in late. He gave me a punishment and he told me to go straight to class. During the second break I had to go and a composition in his office. When I went to my class my teacher told me to give him my homework but I had forgotten my homework at home so I received another punishment from my teacher. When I arrived home I took something to drink, and started my home work. While I was writing I hit the glass accidently and spilt the drink on my copybook. I had to start my homework again. When it was dinner time my mum told me to come and have dinner but I didn`t like the food because it was my least favorite dish. That day was the worst day of my life. I hope that I won`t have another day like that. Martina Brincat

A day when everything went wrong Last Friday was an unlucky day.It all started when I was still in bed.I woke up with excitement because I had a test at school, but then with all the excitment I fell down from my bed.I hit my head too hard. I went to eat breakfast and by mistake my brother ate my breakfast so I had to eat a quick. Then I went running to school but I went late so I was given a punishment from the headmaster. Then I climbed up the stairs and entered in my class. As I was late the test had already begun.By accident I forgot my pencil-case at home so I had to borrow a pencil from someone.I had another punishment from my teacher. At last my school day was over. I had so much homework todo because of the things I missed at school and because of the weekend holidays. My mother always tells me to do my homework on Friday and not do it on Saturday my mother picked me up from school and when she went to open the door she found out that she left the keys in the house.I had to go do my homework at my auntie's house. I was really angry with my brother who scribbled all over the pages of my copybook. That day I had to finish my home work on Sathurday. At last my father came so we could go in.Iwent to sleep in the cosy bed.I felt relieved that the day wasd over and I hoped the next day would be a better day. A day everything went wrong Last month I had the worst day of my life .I forgot to switch on the alarm because I was full of excitement .The next morning I had the annual exams and so I kept studying till eleven o’clock in the evening. When I woke up I couldn’t believe my eyes .it was already nine o’clock. Outside it was raining cats and dogs .I was more worried than ever .What the head master was going to say ?I raced down to fetch my school bag . I was too late to catch the bus leaves at eight o’clock sharp. I rushed. To my school as fast as I could Fgura primary school is about half an hour away from my house. At last I arrived at school wet from tip to toes. I tried to avoid being seen by the headmaster .I was sure he would give me a punishment .I went straight to my class but unfortunately I met the headmaster halfway up the stairs .My heart missed a beat but I couldn’t run away . He told me to go straight to my class and do the exam without any extra time .He also told me that he was going to consult this with my mum .I did half of the exam and I was sure that I could forget that PSP that I saw on the internet .My mum promised me that if I passed the exams with flying colours she would buy now there was no hope. I didn’t tell my mother about what had happened when she came to pick up .She took me and my brother to the play ground so that I could relax from all that pressure .I went to slide. I crashed on the ground and hurt my arm and leg .They were broken! I burst to tears with all that pain. My mother phoned 112 for help .in about five minutes the ambulance arrived and rushed me to hospital. This was the first day that everything went miserably wrong and I am going to try jolly hard not to have the same accident .I am sure that next time I won’ t forget to switch on the alarm .I spent about three weeks in bed and I don’ t to have the same experience again . ALISTIAR GRIMA

A day when everything went wrong. Last week I had a ballet show on Saturday and Sunday .On Monday I had to go to school and I was so tired that I couldn’t feel my legs. I was so tired that I set my alarm to ring at 7:45 so I woke up late. I had to rush down, put on my uniform and went to the kitchen to have my breakfast. My mum wasn’t there as she was at the supermarket buying some food. So I had to make some milk. I had to wait for five minutes for my mum to make my lunch. When I was going to school mum’s car stopped. School is a mile away from my house. After the car started again. I was half an hour late for school. I had to go early because my class was going to go to Valletta. When I got to my class there was nobody. I had missed the bus. So I had to go see the headmaster. He gave me some extra work. After that day at school my mum came to pick me up. On the way her keys fell. She didn’t notice but then she told me if I had had her keys. My mum went nearest police station to inform them. Hopefully someone found them and the policeman gave them to her. When we went home my mum made me a sandwich. I went to do my homework when my mother told me to help her but when I finished and went to do my homework my little sister had scribbled all over my homework. When I finished I went to bed. I was relieved that the day had ended. I hope there won’t be another day like it. Tamsyn Vella

A day when everything went wrong. It was Wednesday, the alarm clock rang. I woke up slowly and I reached for the clock to switch it off but when I saw the time I began to panic because school starts at half past eight and it was twenty five minutes past eight. My house is far away from school. My parents woke up at the same time. When they saw the time they told me to wash and dress in a minute. I went to open the water and I found that it wasn’t warm. Then when I washed in that cold water I wore the uniform and went outside to get in the car and my father went to start the car to go to school but it didn’t start so he told me to go by bike. I went to get the bike but as I entered the garage I found that it had a flat tyre so I had to go on foot. When I was on the way a car came and splashed the water on my uniform and it became wet. Then the sun came out and I dried up. When I entered school I was seen by the headmaster and I had to write a composition as a punishment. After school my father came to go to home but as we were going in the car my father lost his keys so we went on foot. When we were facing the door by a mistake I put my feet in the mud but my mother had washed the corridor and so I left my footprints! Before I slept I prayed that it will never the next day would be a much better day. Ryan John Aquilina

A day when everything went wrong. The day started when the alarm didn't ring so I ddn't wake up on time.I fell out of bed and when I looked at the time ..Oh no.. it was half past eight. I changed quickly my clothes and went down for breakfast but unfortunately I dropped the cereal on my vest. I hadn't any more vests so I had to go woth my PE tracksuit. On my way to school I realised that I didn't do my hair so I had to go back home and while crossing the street, a car came by and almost hit me. I explained what happened to my teacher but he still gave me a punishment. I also forgot to study for a Maths test too. After school my mother scolded me for getting poor marks. Then for supper we had fish which I don't like. I wish that, I will never have any bad days. I wish that nobody has bad days where everything goes wrong. Nicole Hili

Last Sunday I forgot to set my alarm so I woke up late. I tried to hurry up and while I was having breakfast I dropped the milk on my uniform. Mum had to give me another one. Dad had to drive me to school because I had missed the bus and there was a lot of traffic. When I was going in school a car passed and splashed the rainwater from the day before all over me. When the headmaster saw me he was very angry that I was late and wet. He came with me till I was in class. When I went in I saw everybody with the tracksuit and so I got a punishment I had to write a composition while my friends were playing games during the second break. I was glad when school finished When I was going to open the door I realised that I had forgotten my keys at home so I had to wait till mum came from work. I spent half an hour waiting for mum and I had lots of things to do. Afterwards we went in and as I was doing my homework and I realised that I had forgotten a book at school so I had to phone my friend to see I could borrow her book. While I was phoning my youngest sister started drawing on my copybook and I was so angry. Finally I was ready from my homework. I was the last one having a shower and the water was so cold. I wasn’t awfully tired so I wanted to watch some T.V but the lights went off. At last I went in bed feeling so relived the day was over I hope I have other days with some better luck.

A Day When Everything Went Wrong Monday morning I overlept and missed the school van and I had to go by bus. Mum was very cross that I overslept. When I arrived at school the headmaster scolded me and asked for a perfect explanation and he told me not to do it again. During the first break my friend, Darren and I went to the caretakers' room for a glass of milk. When we were going back to our class I still had some of my milk in my glass and Darren pushed me in jest and I spilled the rest of my milk on myself. During the second, while, I was playing ball with my friend I slipped in some mud. When I left school and arrived home I couldn't find my house key. I was very frustrated. So I went to ask my neighbour if he could call my mother. He called her and in about half an hour I saw her coming. She too was very cross. When I went to do my homework I found out that I had forgotten my books in the locker. As a result mum gave me a punishment. I went to sleep early that day so it could end quickly. I hope that the next day will be much better. Daryl John

A day when everything went wrong Last week I had a very bad day. This bad day started about o`clock in the morning when it was raining cats and dogs, when suddenly drips of water were coming down through the ceiling. I went and warned my parents about the leak. In the morning I found it hard to get up because we slept late until dad sealed the leak. When I got up I dressed up but I was late and missed the transport. When I arrived school I got a big shout from Miss.Brullo.That’s why she scares me and a smaller shout from my teacher Mr.Spiter.The lesson had already started and my teacher had already explained our school works so I was like a fish out of the water. I asked my friend beside me to explain what we had to do. But it got even worse because my teacher gave me a whole break in.In the break my friends decided to start playing a new game but I wasn`t able to play becouse I had a punishment. After school I had to go home on foot.As I was walking a car passed by hit a pothole full of water that was beside the pavement and me soaking wet in dirty water........good thing I didn`t have my mouth open!As I continued walking I finally arrived home but I had another situation becouse I forgot my keys.I was lucky mum was home. When mum saw me soaking wet she sent mee straight into the bathroom. Before she let me in she laid newspapers on the floor to the bathroom becouse she had just finished washing the floor. When I finished homework I had an other shower to refresh myself. When I entered my bed I felt happy that the day was over and another day was coming.I hope it will not happen another time

A day when everything wnet wrong. It was friday, the last day of my half-yearly exams.I woke up at half past seven.I wanted to shout because I woke up late and in thirty minutes I had wash up,wear my uniform, make my bed and do my hair.Iwent down stairs to have my breakfast and at eight o' clock the school bus arrived.I tried to get on it but unfortunately it didn't stopso Ihad to go to school by bicicle. As I was on my way to school there was a pothole in the street.I didn't seen it and I stumbled on it.Iyanked the bycicle from the pothole with frustration. When I arrived at school all the students had started the exam.As I plodded into school te headmaster was walking along. When he saw me he yalled at me and I felt embarassed. When I went home, mum was cleaning the corridor so she told me not to go in kitchen before she was ready. When she was ready we went to eat.Mum had cooked fish and I hate fish but I still had to eat. Then as I was doing my home-work which my private lessons teacher gave me my older brother hid my copybook to play a joke on me. At the end of the day I felt tired and with the hope that the next day would be a better day I slept.

A day when everything went wrong It was a wet Winter's day.All night rain poured heavily and I could not sleep properly because of the sound of thunder. I woke up late for school and after wearing my uniform as fast as you can imagine, I dashed down stairs only to slip in the last few steps and bumped my head against the wall. Now I was really late for school so dad drove me there.Half way to our destination dad's car ran out of petrol so I had to continue my journey on foot.Leaving in a hurry I forgot the umbrella at home and as it was still raining cats and dogs I got all soaked up.All day my school mates made fun of me for the state I arrived at school. In the evening as I was doing my homework the door bell rang and I went to answer the door. This was the time my young and mischevous brother scribbled all over my homework.I had to do it again.I grew really hungry when it got late but when I went to eat mum told me that the food had been burnt and I had to eat a piece of bread. I went to sleep after a hard and unfortunate day wishing that the next day would be a brighter and better day.

When a Prank went Wrong

By: Sara – St. Nicholas

It was a bright and beautiful day when I was walking home from school. The busy street was alive with locals trying to make a living out of selling various kinds of food. I was all alone, as usual, with no one else to be with, and I felt blissful. My friends call me weird and antisocial, but I couldn’t help it. I enjoyed having my personal time in peace and quiet. I was strolling through the market with my AirPods on my ears when all of a sudden two of my classmates showed up in front of me with a grin.

“Hey Lee, funny to see you here,” said Joseph while scratching his thick black hair.

“Yeah Lee, do you come here often?” Bella asked, her eyes were twitching playfully.

“Hi guys,” I said while taking out one of the AirPods from my ear. “Yeah, it’s my route to home.”

“Cool,” Bella said. She then eyed Joseph for a few seconds before smiling really wide at me. “OK, the thing is, I need you to do a favor for me. I have this bicycle that is still in mint condition, and I was wondering whether or not you’d want to take it with you? I can’t take it with me anymore because my family and I are about to move into a smaller apartment, and Joseph here is not allowed to ride a bicycle. Please?”

I could not believe what I heard. Bella asked for a favor when I was the one who actually received the gift. I could not say anything else but nod with disbelief in my eyes. They then led me to the bicycle, which was parked outside of a convenience store. It was a shiny red bicycle with a lot of cool stickers on its body. It looked like the kind of bicycle that people used for the BMX competition. I looked at Bella and blabbered my gratitude. Afterwards, they just left me alone with my so-called brand new bicycle. I took and walked it by my side because I did not want to use it on such a crowded street. I was feeling like I was the luckiest man alive, until I heard the screeching scream of a man from somewhere behind me.

I shifted my footing and turned my head to see a bald, muscular man pointing at me with all of his might. He repeatedly shouted that I was a thief while he was running toward me like a mad bull. All I could do was stand there, rooted to the ground. I tried to run away from him, but my legs were shaking like a jello as the man drew near. He was in front of me in a flash. I could feel his right hand grabbing the front of my shirt with such force that I felt like I was being lifted off the ground for a few inches. His scarred face and crooked nose was so near mine that I could practically smell his disgusting breath.

The bulky man then tossed me aside with ease as if I was just another used rag, and grabbed the bicycle. He eyed me with disgust in his expression, and immediately dialed a number on his phone. I was so shocked that I lost track of what was going on. I hugged myself together as I started to hyperventilate in front of the towering madness. After a few minutes that seemed like an eternity, I heard the siren of the cops all around me. The next thing I knew was the inside of the police car, with my innocence being ripped apart and voice being unheard.

The Day Everything Went Wrong

  • Solanje Macedo, Grade 3, Our Lady Of The Rosary School
Finalist in the 'Far Out 2012' competition

I fell out of bed to see that my alarm clock hadn’t gone off. I was late for school! I rushed to the bathroom, grabbed what I thought was my toothpaste and brushed my teeth. To only find out it was actually my sisters’ colour hair mousse. I looked in the mirror to see my teeth were dark brown. No time to worry about it now, I needed to have breakfast I was late for school! I grabbed the milk and cereal and ate as quickly as I could. While eating I found the cereal to have an awful taste, I looked at the box and saw that I had eaten the dog food pellets. Oh I felt so sick! I rushed upstairs to get dressed. I didn’t want to miss the bus! I grabbed my school bag and ran to the bus stop. I found it strange that I was the only one waiting for the bus. 10 minutes later and there was still no bus in sight. Well, no time to waste, I had to get to school. I started running as fast as I could. I looked behind me and saw that a dog started chasing me. I don’t need this now, and ran very fast. The dog grabbed my uniform, I looked down and saw I had put on the wrong shoes and was wearing my brothers’ uniform. Oh! How could this day get any worse?! Along the way my bag became lighter and lighter. I stopped to see that my zip on my school bag was open and all my books had fallen out along the way... Finally I got to school, the gates were closed and there was not a person around. Just ME!!! Confused, I looked around and found Mr Gold the school caretaker. I asked him where everyone was and why the school gates were locked. His answer was not a good one...”lt’s Saturday”, he replied! I sat on the school steps and laughed out loud!!!!!

write an essay on a day when everything went wrong

It was Sunday morning and I wanted to have a little more rest. But the dogs won’t stop barking. My room being by the side of the street it was I who had to face the gauntlet. I had only three hours’ sleep by five in the morning when the barking started. What throat the nature had provided this little canine with. They had no business to invade my dream land. But they did.

The green lush sea shore, the distant boats dancing on sea waves, the coconut trees inviting the travelers to have a drink from the green fruit, I just enjoyed nature at her best—the scene changed. With a prince’s robe I entered the palace in the forest where the princess was asleep for the last hundred years in her golden surroundings just waiting for me to transform her with a touch. Lo! She was awake—the whole palace was full of activities. The sleeping beauty was just to embrace me when the evil dog barked full-throatily. The princess disappeared—no trees—no sea—no dancing boat. I was there in the corner of my room. Let curse fall on the small canine that spoiled my morning.

Mother won’t give me tea. She waited and waited for me. But how could I leave my angel—the one who waited for me for a hundred years. There’s a limit to everything—even to waiting. And mother went to temple. Doesn’t matter I would prepare tea. I opened the kitchen, put water on gas burner. But where’s the milk. Doesn’t matter I shall have black tea. I went for the sugar container. It slipped from my hand and fell on the kettle. I couldn’t resurrect my mood—left the kitchen to have a cup of tea at a roadside restaurant. The man was waiting for the milk vendor; and why should he come when I needed him the most.

The tea chapter being over I rushed to the library to see my result hardly knowing which paper had published it. But all the papers were in the clutches of people who won’t leave the stands. It took me an hour to catch hold of the paper with the result. I scanned the whole sheet. When I was about to reach my number at the bottom of the page the sheet betrayed me. Someone had notched the very corner. I was rather plunged in darkness. Although I had appeared with a good preparation and was expecting a good class too my mind was under the dark clouds of doubt. How will I face my father—and I decided not to go home.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

Where to go? What to do? I gathered courage and decided to go to the University—eight kilometers to go. I got in a bus. With no money in my pocket who will allow me to proceed. The bus conductor seemed just a Shylock—would demand his pound of flesh. And he did. Had he asked me to get down the matter would have settled. But he won’t. It was an opportunity for him to humiliate a gentleman in the presence of a number of beautiful girls. Two whistles and the bus stopped. He showed me the gate— four kilometers from my house. I had no option but to walk the distance.

It was noon when I entered my room. Well it was the doomsday. Father was waiting for me. ‘Have you seen your result’ came the question like a sharp arrow from a deadly bow. ‘No I haven’t’. ‘But I have, why did you appear at all to secure an III class. You ought to have rather dropped. What will you do with the rotten degree?’ Had mother not intervened I might have been forced to miss the lunch.
