In multi-cultural societies, people of different cultural backgrounds live and work together. Do you think the advantages of multi-cultural societies outweigh the disadvantages? Globalisation has given the world to come closer and today we can experience several cultures staying and working at a common platform. A multi-cultured group brings a wider area of learning, celebration, and a well living environment. Similarly it creates some resistance in the society because of certain group of people being bigot. I think a place with people carrying so many cultures has a enormous benefit than drawback. When several cultures come together we all feel happy in learning new languages. We participate in events and festivals. This brings people coming closer to each other and adopting new style of living and working. Some of the orthodox style are replaced by new and pragmatic way. For example, In India we had a brutal ritual of burning lady who lost her husband. This was objected by the British empire first and later got stopped. Similarly the language which is in demanded across the globe, been learnt by Indians. The advantage of it is very evident now. Having said that, mixed culture also creates a lots of hindrance mainly by the people in the society who are not open to learn and accept. Bigot people are pivotal for such situation as they abhor others culture. They initiates and participates into a negative aspect of racism where people fight and in some instances becomes the reason of riots among different cultured groups. However this is only when we have more people with less knowledge and are illiterate. In conclusion, despite of some challenges which a mixed cultures can bring to the society can not overweight the benefits. PLEASE CHECK THE ESSAY AND TELL THE KIND OF SCORE THIS ESSAY WOULD GET The best way to understand other cultures is to work for a multinational organisation. To what extent do you agree or disagree? There has always been a keen desire in people to gain knowledge about culture and tradition than there own. Whilst some people have the opinion that their relentless inquisition about vivid cultures can be satiated by working in a multinational organisation with people from diverse backgrounds, others have a different point of view. It is certainly understandable that working with people from various cultures opens up the venue for understanding their cultural whereabouts. To begin, interacting in a diversified cultural atmosphere provides the opportunity to know in-detail about them. For instance the festivals they celebrate, cuisines they cook, their folk dance, clothing, lifestyle etc. Additionally, one can learn a lot about their language and dialect. However, there is another view to it. People believe that workplace is a place to work, not learn. It is about their profession and they are not comfortable getting personal in such an environment. Furthermore, people don't appreciate talking about their backgrounds socially. They, for instance, have reservations to discuss about where they come from in fear of getting bullied later. To conclude, it is true that working at multinational organisations unblocks the gateway to unfamiliar cultures, however it is not the best way to gather information. In my view, reading books, travelling, making friends on social media are far better ways to get in-sight about different cultures.

Culture and Clothes Essay

Can your clothes say something about your culture and character?

Some people say that it is possible to tell a lot about a person’s culture and character from their choice of clothes. Do you agree or disagree? There is a view that clothes selection presumably provide valuable information regards to individual’s personality and cultural belonging. I partially agree with this statement to several opinions, and I will explain why in this essay. On the one hand, it is true that the choice of a dress made by each individual is seldom influenced by their personality or mindset. There are often limits to how much we can discover just by looking at someone’s attire, especially when it comes to their personality. For example, the richest person in the world that is Elon Musk usually wears ordinary clothes according to their wishes and this can't say anything about them. This is because he prefers to wear comfortable ones rather than dress style, and it does not make him lose his prestige because everyone knew that he was rich and smart. On the other hand, I am entirely sure that attires might express the character and culture of people as well. The living environment probably influences the choices of an individual’s body appearance. For instance, urban people presumably has more variety of variations of models and brands, attracting them to have a luxurious lifestyle. In addition, it is also might express the aspect of an individual. Take an example, the motivated and cheerful person commonly apply various colours of attire, but people with serious mental stresses tend to wear dark and untidy garbs. Overall, the selection of models and colours in the dress can be used as a reference in determining the character and culture of a person. This is provided that the clothes can provide comfort when used.

Cultural Similarities

Cultures around the world today are more similar than they used to be. What are the reasons? Do you think it is a positive or negative development? In today’s society, people find that culture in everywhere becomes standardisation. There are several reasons that cause this happen, and there are both advantages and disadvantages in relation to this trend. Media is thought to be the main reason that affects culture. Nowadays, most Asian countries can easily access to western culture through media platforms. For example, people are more likely to enjoy watching Hollywood movies rather than movies produced from their own countries. Additionally, tourism and migration are another factor that can have impacts on people’s beliefs. Those who have studied or traveled around the world could adapt to different lifestyle from other countries. For instance, people become independent in many ways including living alone and not relying on their families, because they have used to the western lifestyle when they went abroad. However, it may cause people’s concern that exposure to western culture from media could hinder the use of language of a country. If audiences are constantly watching foreign movies, especially with the language of English, their native language may be abandoned as they speak and read in English predominately. Nevertheless, I believe that it is a positive trend that people could adapt to the other’s culture. For example, Asian food such as sushi is widely accepted in many western countries, and they are not only love the food but also enjoying using chop sticks. Therefore, food becomes a bridge that is connected between western and eastern, allowing people to have fun by sharing the other’s culture. In conclusion, various reasons can cause culture become more similar, and I believe that the benefit of this development outweigh its drawback. ***** I'd appreciate any feedback for my globalisation essay on culture.

Technology and Loss of Culture

It is predictable that traditional cultures of countries will be lost as technology develops. Technology and tradition are incompatible. Do you agree or disagree? No one would deny that the advancement of technology have immensely changed the way of people’s lives, including traditional customs. Regarding this, some people assume that traditional culture of each country will disappear due to the enormous technology breakthroughs. I totally agree with this idea that tradition is unable to co-exist with technology. To start with, the dramatic development of technology in media may play a critical role in fading away local cultures. It seems easy to find materials illustrating the backgrounds of other countries such as movies and dramas, which in turn, making people expose to other cultures. According to research, this persistent exposure to international media has contributed to a social trend which people become curious about new cultures and in turn welcome it, rather than retaining their local unique culture. Therefore, this may result in the disappearance of cultural diversity as technology advances. Moreover, the improvement of technology enables people to contact with families living apart more frequently than ever, which is one of the cultures of various countries. With the help of technology appliance such as mobiles and web-camera, people these days have more opportunities to keep in touch with other family members without travelling. However, it was not uncommon for people in the past to visit hometown, especially on special occasions. The frequent contacts help people to feel closer regardless of how far they are. To take Korea as example, visiting the hometown, which was given the great importance on the public before technology developed, is not considered as a priority custom any more. Instead, they travel overseas or afford holiday on special occasion, which means people no longer follow the local tradition. To recapitulate, the technological improvements have indeed brought about losing tradition in various ways.  Others prefer to keep their own customs. Compare these two choices.
 Which one do you prefer? Habits are one of the crucial component of cultural formation in particular area of the global. In nowadays world, many people encounter with different customs in the places they migrate for several purposes. Some individuals prefer to become familiar with the country they’ve relocated to, some of them adopt to protect their traditions. My personal view is that individuals should not follow the customs of the new country to preserve their culture and identity. Uniqe customs to the development of a sense of self, which has huge importance for the psychology of people. Accordingly, maintaining these traditions is beneficial to mental health, especially one’s the sense of self. Suggest that you have a conservative attitude on some particular subjects, and your new country has radical or socialist customs. If you enforce yourself not to act like you are, you may experience self-conflict which can be hazardous to your psychological health. Otherwise, this following may come with a societal issue. In the case of all people comply with their new nation’s habits, a vast majority of the culture may encounter with threatening of forgetting. So, the disappearance of nations cause fewer customs, local dishes, and even superstition diversity, all of which aid our understanding of the world. Each person should safeguard their customs in order to keep alive every culture. In brief, cultural emergence has considerable constituent, like customs. When people relocate, they may be faced with the decision of whether or not to follow their traditions. As a result, maintaining one’s own conventions tend to sustain both one’s the sense of self as well as one’s cultural heritage.

Many people come from different regions with various cultural backdrops living and working together in multicultural societies. Although multicultural societies lead to social conflict and dominate the culture of minority groups, I believe the benefits outweigh the drawbacks because multiculturism makes life vibrate and is a blessing for the economy.

A multicultural society does come with many drawbacks. At times, certain conflicts might loom large due to cultural prejudice, religious belief, inequality, and so forth. This is why ethnic disputes are common in many multicultural societies. Conflicts in Sri Lanka, Chechnya, the Gaza Strip and Darfur are the deadliest examples. Furthermore, weak minority groups can lose their original cultural and ethnic identity. Put simply, an individual from a minority group is likely to imitate the lifestyle of the dominant culture, thereby losing her own ethnic identity.

Having said that, multicultural societies also confer a plethora of benefits. Cultural diversity within a society adds various hues to monotonous life and makes cosmopolitan cities fascinating and vibrant. This means that people from different countries with various cultural heritages bring fresh exotic experiences to the host societies. A case in point is Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, there are many dazzling festivals, including the DRONGO Festival, Indian Diwali, and Irish St. Patrick’s Day to mention but a few. The residents in Amsterdam barely feel bored, they enjoy the food, music, and dance from various countries. All of these contribute to the charm of the city and attract a huge influx of tourists. In consequence, it boosts the tourism sector, creates employment, and increases local government revenue, hence multi-culturalism stimulates economic growth. As maintaining vibrant life and economy is critically important, I am of the opinion that multicultural societies have numerous advantages.

In conclusion, people from different ethnic groups, in multicultural societies, live and work together. Although this trend causes conflicts and challenges ethnic minority groups’ identity, I believe that there are more advantages to it because multiculturalism makes life vibrant and is good for the economy.

In my opinion, the advantages of multicultural societies outweigh the disadvantages. While challenges exist, the benefits of cultural diversity, such as the enrichment of social fabric, intellectual growth, and economic prosperity, are significant. By embracing multiculturalism, societies can foster inclusivity, promote equal opportunities, and create environments that celebrate diversity.

In conclusion, multicultural societies offer numerous advantages, including cultural diversity, social cohesion, and innovation. Although challenges such as cultural conflicts, the benefits of multiculturalism can contribute to a more inclusive, progressive, and enriched society. A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
