If you're planning to  travel abroad , in many cases you will need to obtain a visa beforehand. The requirements vary according to your country of origin and your destination. But for a lot of people, the process to be granted a visa can seem daunting and unclear. In this article, we share important tips about visas to equip you with the knowledge to prepare for your international trip. Read on to find out more about how tourist visas work, including a very useful sample cover letter for your tourist visa application.

What Exactly Is a Tourist Visa?

A tourist visa or visitor visa is an official document that allows you to get in another country. In general, you are likely to need one every time you visit another country. However, this depends on which country you are from and where you are going, as some countries have agreements that allow entrance even without it.

A tourist visa may take different forms: it can be a paper document, although it most often comes as a simple stamp in your passport . Some countries require you to arrange your visa before arriving in the country, while others issue it to you once you land at the airport.

A tourist visa indicates how long you are allowed to stay in the country. It also defines which activities you are allowed to participate in or not while there, such as working and studying.

Other Types of Visas

how long is a passport good for

A tourist visa is the most common and most acquired type of visa. It is usually only valid for a short period of time, commonly ranging from a few weeks to a couple of months.

This is what you will need if you are just planning to visit the country. A tourist visa however doesn't allow you to work and study while you are in a particular country.

Others types of visas include student visas, business visas, media visas, fiancé visas , and many others depending on the place you're travelling to.

Resident visas are also available for those who want to live in a particular country. You will normally need a valid reason to obtain this type of visa, as they tend to be the most difficult to get.

What You Need to Apply for a Tourist Visa

As mentioned above, tourist visa requirements vary with your nationality and your destination, as well as where you make your application. You should always check the instructions application to your specific situation on the relevant embassy or consulate website. Having said that, there are some general requirements and common documents that are needed for most tourist visa applications.

These include:

  • Passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay
  • Duly filled out visa application forms
  • Confirmed round-trip tickets
  • Cover letter for tourist visa or letter to the consulate

Top tip: travel insurance for your visa application

Most tourist visa applications require you to show proof of travel insurance coverage for the duration of your trip. We use and recommend SafetyWing as our preferred travel medical insurance provider. It's the most flexible and affordable we've found, starting at just $1.32 per day. They can also provide a visa letter to support your application. If you're looking for more comprehensive coverage, World Nomads is also a reliable and very popular alternative among global travelers. Note: In our experience and to the best of our knowledge, these two travel insurance options fulfill the requirements for most tourist visa applications. However, please make sure to check that they meet the specific criteria applicable to your individual case.

The cover letter or letter to the consulate is necessary for tourist visas that require interviews. This letter needs to explain why you want to visit the country and where you will be staying in the country. It must also outline the intended dates and duration of your stay.

Moreover, this letter is your way to tell the embassy if you are getting a sponsorship from a friend, parents, or a romantic partner who are currently based in that country. It's important to take your time to write your cover letter, although you should also make sure to keep it to-the-point and not too long.

If the trip is going to be  sponsored by someone else , make sure to include the following details in the cover letter for your tourist visa application:

  • The name of the person who is going to sponsor your trip
  • The job or source of income of the person who is going to sponsor you
  • Your proof or relationship (normally pictures)
  • Proof of financial capability of your sponsor
  • The expenses your sponsor will cover

The cover letter is a really important document to provide before your trip. It states every important thing you want to tell the embassy or consulate. Make sure that it mentions and explains every document you've submitted.

To give you a better insight into how to create a cover letter for your visa application, here is a sample cover letter for a tourist visa needed to enter a country:

Can I travel to Egypt without a visa?

Certain nationalities, including Americans and those from most countries within the European Union, can apply for a visa for Egypt upon arrival  at ports of entry, such as Cairo International Airport. Confirm first to make sure your country of citizenship is included in this list. If so, you should line up at the airport’s immigration counters with a valid passport, the visa fee to be paid in cash, and a completed application form.

How long can I stay in Egypt with my visa?

You can stay in Egypt for the duration of your valid visa. If you’d like to stay in Egypt for longer than your visa permits, you’ll need to reapply for a new visa through Egypt’s Ministry of Interior Administration of Passports, Emigration and Nationality in Cairo.

Can I extend or renew my Egypt visa?

It is possible to extend your stay in Egypt  if you have entered the country on a tourist or business visa. In order to apply for a visa extension, you’ll need to complete an application form and provide a valid reason for extending your stay, along with paying a fee.

It’s important to remember that overstaying your visa in Egypt can result in fines and possibly other penalties, so it’s always advisable to extend your visa if necessary before it expires.

Can I travel to Egypt with a different or separate passport than the one I used to get my visa?

No, you generally cannot use a different passport than the one you used to apply for your visa when traveling to Egypt. The visa is linked to the specific passport you used during the application process.

If you obtained an Egyptian visa with a certain passport, you should use that same passport to travel to Egypt. This applies to both physical visas stamped or attached in the passport and electronic visas, or e-Visas, which are digitally linked to your passport number.

If your passport is lost, stolen, expired, or replaced after obtaining your visa but before your travel to Egypt, you’ll usually need to reapply for your visa using the new passport.

If your visa is tied to an older passport that is still valid, reach out to your country’s Egyptian embassy or consulate to explain this situation and inquire about what can be done to transfer the visa over to your current passport.

Where can I find the Government of Egypt official visa and e-Visa portal?

This is the Government of Egypt’s official authorized visa website , where you can learn more about regular visas or e-Visas.

Where should I keep my Egypt visa while traveling?

If you received a regular or paper visa, it’ll be put directly into your passport.

For e-visas, you will receive a digital copy by email. Print out a copy of the e-Visa to show immigration officers and to keep with you while traveling, just in case.

Didn’t find the answer you needed? Reach out to us directly   —we’re happy to help.

A cover letter for a Schengen visa is a crucial part of your visa application process. A well-written cover letter can increase your chances of getting your visa approved by clearly understanding your trip and your adherence to the visa requirements. This guide will show you how to draft an effective cover letter for your Schengen visa application.

Why Do You Need a Cover Letter for a Schengen Visa?

A cover letter for a Schengen visa application serves multiple purposes. It helps clarify your trip details, provides additional supporting documents, and gives the visa officer a better understanding of your intentions. Key Elements to Include

When writing a cover letter for a Schengen visa, you must ensure it includes all relevant information. This will make it easier for the visa officer to assess your application. Below are the key elements your letter should contain:

Clearly state the purpose of the letter and the visa type you are applying for.

Example:  "I am writing to apply for a  Schengen visa  to visit [Schengen Country] for a [purpose of visit], scheduled from [travel dates]."

Financial Support and Proof of Funds

The general structure of the cover letter will work for any Schengen country, as Schengen visa requirements and processes are standardized across the Schengen Area. However, it’s essential to make a few adjustments depending on the specific Country you're applying to, such as:

  • Addressing the correct consulate/embassy : Update the name and address of the consulate or embassy of the Country where you're applying.
  • Purpose of visit : If you're applying for a visa to visit a specific Schengen country, highlight the purpose of your visit to that Country (tourism, business, visiting family, etc.). If your trip involves multiple countries, mention each and clarify where you’ll spend the most time.
  • Additional country-specific requirements : Some Schengen countries may request specific documents or details. Ensure you meet the Country’s unique requirements (if any) while keeping the rest of the cover letter format identical
  • Drafting a Strong Leave Application for Vacation : If you are employed, you must provide a  leave application  for vacation to show your intention to return to work after your vacation. A well-written leave application reassures the visa officer that you have a professional obligation to return.

Egypt tourist visa application process

The application process for an Egypt tourist visa is as follows:

Are you eligible for Egypt eVisa?

Before you begin applying for an Egypt tourist visa, determine if you are eligible for Egypt eVisa. The above section explained what countries are eligible for the eVisa. If yes, go through the process as it’s easy and short. If not, continue the process as explained in the below section.

Completing the application form

The first stage is to complete the application form. You can receive it from the Egyptian embassy or consulate website in your home country. Remember that you need to find their website and know the requirements.

Complete the firm with the exact information from your documents. Your name must be as written on your passport. So it is with the other documents. When you complete the form, print, date, and sign it. Ask the embassy whether you should date the form or not.

Gathering the requirements

The Egyptian embassy requires you to submit some supporting documents to prove you are eligible to visit the country. You can see the list of them in the above section, but the embassy or consulate in your home country could require further documents. It’s up to their decision and your case.

Remember that you can start collecting requirements earlier than the date you want to apply for the visa. It could take a bit longer for you to collect everything, so consider some delays.

Schedule a visa interview with the embassy

When you have collected all or part of the requirements, contact the embassy and schedule a visa appointment with them. If you have not gathered part of the supporting documents, see if you can collect all the requirements by the date of the interview.

Determine if the embassy provides a recipe for the scheduled meeting or not. If yes, keep the receipt and provide it for the interview. You need to remember the exact date and time of the interview as you should not be late.

Attend the visa meeting

Go to the visa meeting on the exact date you reserved it. You should not be late and, in fact, a bit early. It could take time to go through the security check and prove your identity. You need to carry all the supporting documents to the meeting. As there is a fee with the visa processing, bring enough money to pay it. Ask the embassy what form they receive the payment; cash or credit card.

When you meet the visa officer, submit the requirements, pay the fee and keep the receipt. They will also ask you questions about the purpose of your visit to the country. Be honest and give true answers regarding your visit.

When everything is completed, you can ask about the processing time and the way to receive your visa.

Wait for visa processing

It takes time, so the embassy works on your visa and decides whether to issue it or not. The processing time is up to a few factors;

  • The embassy workload
  • Your documents are complete or not
  • The time of the year you have applied.

When your visa is ready, the officials inform you to pick it up or send it to your address. If it’s refused, they will inform you of the reason.

Egypt tourist visa fees or costs

The fee of the cost of the Egypt tourist visa is up to the country you apply from. The type of visa is also another factor. For instance, US citizens have to pay $29 for a single tourist visa while a multiple tourist visa is $63. A single entry visa costs $13, and multiple entries cost $89. Some countries might also be free of fees for some types such as:

  • Diplomatic passport holders
  • UN Liaises passers

You would better ask the embassy about the fee and be prepared to pay it.

Egypt tourist visa processing time

The processing time for the Egyptian tourist visa is up to different factors. The time of the year you apply influences it if you apply during the peak tourist season, the processing will become longer. Also, if your documents are not complete and the embassy asks for more, the timing will become longer. However, the embassy will process everything fast and inform you of the decision as soon as possible.

Egypt tourist visa for US citizens

The US citizens do not need to apply for an Egypt tourist visa as they can apply for an Egypt eVisa. The processing application for eVisa is completely online, and the US nationals will receive the visa through your mail. You print the visa and provide it to the Border officials at the port of entry. The one point to remember is that US citizens need to apply for the eVisa at least 7 days before the date they want to enter the country.

The US citizens are allowed to stay in Egypt for 30 days. If you receive a multiple-entry visa, there won’t be a limit on the times to enter the country, but you can not stay for over 30 days on each visit.

Egypt tourist visa COVID-19 regulations

When you arrive at one of the Egyptian airports, you need to provide:

  • The medical certificate
  • Public health card
  • Proof of valid health insurance

COVID-19 restrictions for Egypt tourist visa

The foreign visitors entering the country need to respect the law and regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The evening curfews have been lifted in Egypt. However, the restaurants and cafes must close by 10.00 pm. The shops also need to close by 9.00 pm.

You need to wear a facial mask everywhere you go and the ones who do not have access to Egyptian public transportation.

Public places are active at 50% of capacity with safety hygiene standards:

  • Restaurants
  • Movie theatres
  • Sports clubs

Places of worship, mosques, and churches, are active but with limitations, and the number of people visiting is reduced.

You would better follow the following instructions for COVID-19 safety procedures:

  • Keep away from large gatherings of people
  • Wash your hands regularly, particularly after touching surfaces
  • Cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing with tissue or elbow pit
  • Keep a social distance of at least one meter in public places

COVID-19 testing in coastal governorates

The Egyptian government has advised foreign visitors to take a PCR test when arriving in the governorates of:

  • Red Sea (Hurghada and Marsa Alam)
  • South Sinai (Sharm El Sheikh)
  • Marsa Matrouh

The cost of the PCR test is USD30 but if you have a vaccination certificate of the approved vaccines, you don’t have to pass the PCR test.

After taking the test, you need to isolate yourself until you receive the result of the test. The officials will inform you whether the test is positive and you must continue your isolation for 14 days or if it’s negative and you can leave the hotel. The result of the test will become available in 12-24 hours.

If your symptoms get worse, you must visit a hospital, so it is essential to buy health insurance for your visit to the country.

Impact of the previous visit to Israel on Egypt tourist visa

People ask that if I have visited Israel, will I be banned from entering Egypt? The answer is NO. The Israel entry or exit stamp on your passport does not disqualify you from entering Egypt. However, you might have to get the right of entry into the country and explain the purpose of your visit to Israel. Also, you would better ask the Egyptian embassy or consulate in your home country whether you will have any difficulty visiting the country or not.

What are the customs regulations for an Egypt tourist visa?

The tourists are allowed to bring only up to 5,000 Egyptian pounds to the country. There is no limit to hard currency but the amount over USD 10,000 must be declared on arrival to the officials. If you carry electrical equipment and video cameras, you must declare it to the officials. You need to inform the Ministry of Telecommunications to bring satellite phones and radio communications equipment to the country and if you don’t notify them, the equipment will be confiscated. When you carry electrical equipment that is mentioned on your passport, you must take them out of the country and if not, you have to pay high rates of customs duty.

If you need to carry certain objects with you to Egypt, contact the embassy and ask what the exact rules are.

Is it legal to bring medication under an Egyptian tourist visa?

Some of the common medications that you take and are considered in the EU or the US might be considered illegal by Egyptian authorities without prior permission. You need the approval of  Egypt’s Ministry of Health to bring your medicine to the country.

In case you enter the country and don’t have permission and the supporting documents for the medication you carry, you may be prosecuted.

You must carry a medical certificate approving the prescription for the medication you take. The medicine must be for a medical condition you suffer from. The certificate must be through a letter from your GP. The GP or health expert must indicate that the medicine:

  • Is for this particular health condition
  • The quantity of medication you take,
  • It’s for your personal usage only.

Egypt Visa Application Requirements

Types of visas for Egypt

If you are applying for an Egypt visa, you need to know which one you need to apply for. This is based on your reason for traveling to Egypt:

  • Tourist – for tourist purposes
  • Entry – for business, work, study purposes etc. You must have an entry visa in order to complete the residence procedure in Egypt

Egypt visas are issued as single entry or multiple entry which means you can enter Egypt once or unlimited times within the validity of your visa.

  • Single entry – valid for 6 months for stays up to a maximum of 60 days
  • Multiple entry – valid for 6 months for stays of up to 90 days (30 days each stay)

Where to apply for Egypt visa

If you are a citizen of a country that is not eligible for visa exemption or visa on arrival, you must apply for a visa prior to your trip. You can do this through an Egyptian Embassy or Consulate located in the area you reside.

To find the nearest one, first go to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt and click on: “Ministry” and then “Egypt around the world”:

Egypt Visa Embassies and Consulates

On the next page, you will find a list of all the Egyptian missions around the world:

Egypt Visa Missions Worldwide

There are contact details, but no website addresses, so you can just enter the embassy or consulate in your location into a search engine to go to the relevant website.

The Egypt Visa Application Process and Requirements

Your Egypt visa will be processed between 5 and 10 days, but it’s worth checking with the embassy or consulate you will be dealing with because their timescales may be different. In any case, you should apply well in advance of your trip to allow for your application to be processed in time.

Please, note if you are from any of the countries that require pre-approval, the wait time is 6-8 weeks.

When you submit your application, all you need to do is to go to the respective embassy or consulate during their working hours and hand over your file. There is no need to make an appointment unless this is a requirement of the office you are dealing with. Check the website of the embassy or consulate to check this before arriving.

Step 1: Complete your application form

You need to complete an application form for your Egypt visa. Most of the embassies and consulates have links on their websites where you can download the form.

Alternatively, you can go to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt and click on: “Consular section” and then “Visa application”:

Egypt Visa Application Form

On the next page, scroll down and you can complete your application before printing it off:

Egypt Visa Application Form1

If you are applying for an e-visa, there is a link on the same page that will direct you to the e-visa portal :

Egypt Visa e-Visa Portal

Step 2: Get your documents ready

The next stage of the Egypt visa application process is to get your supporting documents ready to submit along with your application form.

It is very important to make sure you check what is required for your visa application, so spend some time looking at the website of the embassy or consulate you are dealing with before you start. This will save time later and ensure you don’t miss anything. If you submit an incomplete application, it will be rejected.

Please note, you are also required to provide originals AND photocopies of everything. Don’t forget to do this, as it will be seen as an incomplete application and it won’t be accepted.

Required documents for your Egypt visa:

1) Passport of all nationalities – must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel and have an empty visa page. Also, 2 copies of the passport’s information page are required

2) Photographs – 2 x recent color passport-sized photos, against a white background. The name of the applicant must be written on the back and the photo must be attached to the application form

3) A completed application form for Egypt visa

4) 2 x copies of the green card and/or valid visa

5) 2 x copies of school registration

6) 2 copies of round-trip ticket or confirmed itinerary

7) Hotel reservation

8) 2 copies of a letter from your company stating the purpose of the trip and financial guarantee of company and company name in US and Egypt; details of conference or seminar, dates of travel and length of stay

9) Marriage/birth certificate

10) Parent’s/Egyptian national’s passport or ID

11) A self-addressed envelope (for returning passports)

If you’re planning to obtain your flight reservation for visa without paying for the ticket, all you have to do is follow the 3 simple steps below:

  • Visit the Visa Reservation website to choose the right package
  • Submit the travel details and make the payment online
  • Receive flight itinerary in email

Flight reservation without payment

Step 3: Submit your application

Depending on the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate you are dealing with, it is possible to submit your file in person or by mail, so check with the respective office of the options available to you.

When the visa staff processes your application, they may wish to ask you extra questions about the information you have supplied, and they may contact you to attend an interview. They could ask you:

  • Is this your first trip to Egypt?
  • What do you know about the country?
  • Are you meeting anyone in Egypt?
  • What work are you planning on doing when you are there?
  • What is your role in your home country?

If you get asked questions like these, all you need to do is answer to the best of your ability and remain calm. The visa staff is only trying to get all the information they need to make a decision about whether to approve your visa or not.

You’ll also have to pay the relevant fee for your visa. You can usually pay by cash, postal order, money order or cashier’s check, but again this depends on the embassy or consulate you are dealing with, so check their website first.

Please note, these fees will be charged in the local currency of the country you are applying from.

You may also have to provide biometric data in the form of a scan of your fingerprints and a digital photo.

Step 4: Receive your visa

Once your visa application has been processed, the embassy or consulate will notify you and you can either collect your passport from the visa office or have it returned by mail. You need to check with the respective office which services they provide for returning passports.

Hopefully, you will find your visa inside your passport, but if it is not there, it may have been rejected for a reason. Common rejection reasons include:

  • Personal details don’t match your passport
  • Invalid passport
  • Missing documents
  • You already have a valid visa

Firstly, your passport must have at least 6 months remaining, so make sure it does, otherwise, you need a new one before you can apply for your Egypt visa. If you have a valid visa for Egypt already, you may not need to apply for a new one, so this should be the first thing to check, especially if you have been to Egypt before. Your personal details should match those in your passport, and if any of the required documents are missing, the embassy or consulate won’t accept your application, so check everything before you submit your file.

1) Do I need a visa to travel to Egypt?

Unless you are from those countries that don’t need a visa, you do need a visa to travel to Egypt

2) If I get a visa on arrival, how much does this cost?

The cost of a visa on arrival is $25

3) Should I apply for an Egypt visa at the embassy or should I apply for an e-visa?

Only citizens from certain countries are eligible to apply for an e-visa. If this is the case for you, it’s really up to you

4) Do I need to be pre-approved before I apply for an Egypt visa?

See above for the list of countries whose nationals require pre-approval

5) What is a multiple entry visa?

A multiple entry visa allows you to enter Egypt as many times as you like within the validity of the visa

6) Can I get my visa application processed any quicker?

This depends on the visa authority you are applying through, but most aim to process visa applications within 10 days. It’s up to you to apply well in advance of your trip

7) Can someone else apply on my behalf?

Yes, you can get someone else to submit your file and collect your passport, but you must sign your own application form, and if the office wish you to attend an interview, you must attend in person

8) Do I need separate visas if I am visiting more than one city in Egypt?

No, you just need to apply for one visa, either single or multiple entry

When you know where to apply for your Egypt visa, all you need to do is to:

  • Complete Egypt visa application form
  • Get your documents ready
  • Submit your file
  • Receive Egypt visa

Before long, you’ll have your Egypt visa in your hand and then you can prepare for your exciting trip away!

We plant a tree!

What are the important details that should be in a visa invitation letter.

An invitation letter for an Egyptian visa that is successful should include the following :

  • Inviter’s information : complete name, mailing address, contact information, and a copy of their identification or, if relevant, residency permission.
  • Information about the Invitee : Full name, passport number, relationship to the sender, and other pertinent facts needed for identification.
  • The visit’s aim should be clear, whether it’s a family get-together, a business meeting, or something else entirely.
  • Duration & Lodging : Indicate how long the guest will stay (at the hotel, with the inviter, etc.) and the details of their accommodations.
  • Guarantees : A host declaration stating that they know the guest must follow Egyptian law and that they plan to depart Egypt before the visa expires.
  • Documentation Supporting : Depending on the goal, attaching documentation such as a business registration may be wise.

What are the requirements for writing a letter of Invitation?

In order to guarantee the legitimacy of the invitation letter, the host needs to meet the following conditions :

  • Must be an Egyptian citizen or a legitimate permanent resident.
  • Must be the applicant’s friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, family member, or relative.
  • Must have a roomy enough registered place of residence (home or apartment) for the applicant.

A Letter of Invitation is not always necessary, but it is always advised to send one, even if it isn’t stated clearly.

How to write a letter of invitation for a visa application?

Some people find writing a letter of invitation to be difficult, but if you know why it’s needed, it’s the easiest part of applying for a visa. The host should write the letter, addressed to the consular officer or the application.

Make sure to review the visa application checklist for specific criteria, since several embassies may offer their invitation form. If a form is given, the host just needs to complete the necessary fields.

The following samples can be utilized, even in the absence of a specific form, by simply changing the information to suit your needs.

It is essential to include pertinent information about the host and the guest in the invitation letter. The correspondence must include the

  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • Type of residence ( owned/rented house, flat, or room )
  • Host’s status in Egypt ( work visa, student visa, permanent resident, citizen, or other legal status )

The letter must also include the following information about the guest:

  • Full name as shown on their International Passport
  • Address and telephone number
  • Relationship between the host and the guest
  • Purpose of the trip ( e.g., friendly visit, holiday, wedding, birthday party )
  • Exact entry and exit dates

If the letter is  addressed to the guest, it should be written in a personal and friendly tone rather than a formal one.  This approach helps the consular officer gain a better understanding of the relationship between the host and the guest.

Can An invitation letter guarantee a visa?

No, an invitation letter does not guarantee a visa . An invitation letter is a document that shows that someone in the destination country is willing to host the visa applicant and support their trip. However, the visa applicant still needs to meet the other requirements of the visa application, such as proving their financial capacity, travel purpose, and intention to return to their home country. The visa officer will assess the visa application based on the immigration law and the individual circumstances of the applicant. An invitation letter can help to strengthen the visa application, but it does not ensure that the visa will be issued.

How can I obtain an invitation letter issued by Egypt?

Obtaining an invitation letter from Egypt typically involves the following steps:

  • Determine the Necessity : Firstly, ascertain if your travel purpose indeed requires an invitation letter.
  • Identify the Inviter : If you’re visiting for business, the company or organization you’re dealing with should provide the letter. If it’s a personal visit, a friend or family member residing in Egypt can send the invitation.
  • Provide Required Information : Ensure your host in Egypt has all the necessary details about your visit. This includes your personal information, travel dates, accommodation details, the purpose of your visit, and any other relevant specifics.
  • Letter Creation : The host will draft the invitation letter, ensuring it covers all required details and adheres to any specific format guidelines set by the Egyptian visa authorities.
  • Notarization (If Required) : Sometimes, the letter might need to be notarized in Egypt for added authenticity.
  • Submission to Traveler : Once prepared, the host should send the invitation letter to the traveler, preferably via a traceable method, ensuring it arrives without damage.
  • Include with Visa Application : The traveler then includes this letter, along with other necessary documents, when applying for their visa.

cover letter for egypt tourist visa

Suggest you talk to a local travel agent and ask if they will give you one.

Hello Aunkita,

You can book any 1 day trip from a travel agent and he will give you the guarantee letter.

I am solo travelling and hope it was the case with you. Would you mind DM me what you used - agency name and cost. I will use the same. Did you get the evisa issued yet?

(info: a travel agent from Mumbai stated that the egypt embassy offline application process has mandated for a guarantee letter in arabic for solo travelers!!!!!! )

Need the same details. If you got the letter and from whom and what is the format?

Thanks much,

Please if you could share some information regarding how you sorted the guarantee letter required with e-Visa.

In order to avoid this stress, I opted for a stamp visa from Egyptian Embassy in Delhi. Extremely smooth process and I got my Visa in 5 working days.

On the Cairo immigration front, it was one of the smooth process I encountered. Just took less than a minute (literally) and no questions asked.

Sorry...cannot comment on Evisa though.
