Bhagat Singh Biography in Telugu

Childhood Days

Bhagat Singh is well-known for his revolutionary and heroic acts. Born in an Indian Independence-supporting family, Bhagat Singh was a part of the struggle. Sardar Kishan Singh and Sardar Ajit Singh were both popular freedom fighters at that time. Both supported the Gandhian ideology.

They inspired people to march in large numbers against the British. This was a profound impact on Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh was born with a loyalty to the country and a desire to liberate it from the British. It was in his blood and veins.

Bhagat Singh’s Education

His father supported Mahatma Gandhi when he called for the boycott of government-aided institutions. At the age of 13, Bhagat Singh quit the school. He then joined the National College in Lahore. He studied the European revolution movements, which he was greatly inspired by while in college.

Bhagat Singh’s participation in the Freedom Fight

Bhagat Singh had read many articles on the European nationalist movements. He was greatly inspired by the same in 1925. For his national movement, he founded the Naujavan Bharat Saha. He joined the Hindustan Republican Association later, where he met prominent revolutionaries such as Rajguru, Sukhdev and Chandrashekhar.

He began writing articles for Kirti Kisan Party magazine. He refused to marry his parents, even though he was asked by them. He told them that he was going to devote his entire life to the freedom fight.

Because of his involvement in revolutionary activities, he was a person of concern for the British police. He was arrested by police in May 1927. He was released after a few months and began writing revolutionary articles for newspapers again.

Bhagat Singh’s Turning Point

In 1928, the Simon Commission was established by the British government to discuss Indian autonomy. However, several political groups boycotted it because the commission didn’t include any Indian representatives.

Lala Lajpat Rai protested against this and led a procession towards Lahore station. To control the mob, police used the Lathi Charge. The Lathi charge led to police hitting protestors with brutality. Lala Lajpat Rai was seriously injured and had to be admitted in hospital. Lala Ji was made shaheed after a few weeks.

Bhagat Singh was furious at the death of Lala Ji and decided to revenge. He then killed John P. Saunders, a British police officer. Later, he and his accomplices bombed Delhi’s Central Legislative Assembly. They were arrested by police and Bhagat Singh admitted to his involvement in the incident.

Bhagat Singh led the hunger strike in prison during the trial. Rajguru and Sukhdev, his co-conspirators were executed on March 23rd 1931.

Bhagat Singh was a true patriot. He was not only a patriot, but he also fought for freedom. His death evoked strong patriotic sentiments across the country. His followers called him a martyr. We remember him as Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Bhagat Singh Biography Telugu

Bhagat Singh

Talking about the same in the article, Emergence of Punjab in the freedom movement, Bhagat Singh shared, “Having seen their enthusiasm at the 1906 Congress Convention in Calcutta, Lokmaniya was pleased and in bidding them adieu, gave them the responsibility of strengthening the movement in the Punjab.” On their return to Lahore, both the brothers initiated a monthly newspaper by the name, Bharat Mata with the aim to propagate their ideas to overthrow the British rule.

The loyalty towards the country and the drive to free it from the clutches of the British was thus inborn in Bhagat Singh. It ran in his blood and veins.

Bhagat Singh’s Active Involvement in the Freedom Struggle

Bhagat Singh read a lot about the European nationalist movements and got inspired by the same in 1925. He founded the Naujavan Bharat Sabha the following year and later joined the Hindustan Republican Association where he came in contact with a number of prominent revolutionaries including Sukhdev and Chandrashekhar Azad. He also began contributing articles to Kirti Kisan Party’s magazine, the “Kirti”. While his parents wanted him to marry around the same time, he rejected their offer outright telling them that he wanted to dedicate his life to the freedom struggle.

Due to his active involvement in numerous revolutionary activities, he soon became a person of interest for the British police and was arrested in May 1927. A few months later he was released and got involved in writing revolutionary articles for newspapers.

The Turning Point

In the year 1928, the British government held the Simon Commission for the discussion of autonomy for the Indians. It was boycotted by several Indian political organizations as the event did not include any Indian representative. Lala Lajpat Rai protested against the same by leading a procession and marching towards the Lahore station. In an attempt to control the mob, the police used the weapon of lathi charge and brutally hit the protestors. Lala Lajpat Rai got severely injured and was hospitalised. He succumbed to his injuries a few weeks later. The incident left Bhagat Singh enraged and he planned to avenge Rai’s death. Singh killed British police officer John P. Saunders soon after. He and one of his associates later bombed the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi. He then confessed his involvement in the incident and surrendered to the police.

During the trial period, Bhagat Singh led hunger strike in the prison. He and his co-conspirators, Rajguru and Sukhdev were executed on the 23 rd of March 1931.

Bhagat Singh was a true patriot. He did not only fight for the freedom of the country but had no qualms giving away his life in the event. His death brought about mixed emotions throughout the country. While those who believed in the Gandhian ideology felt that he was too aggressive and radical and hurt the freedom quest on the other hands his followers considered him a martyr. He is still remembered as Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Essay on Bhagath Singh

Essay generator.

Bhagat Singh, a name that conjures images of bravery, sacrifice, and the fervent pursuit of freedom, remains one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. Born on September 28, 1907, in Banga, Punjab, in what is now Pakistan, Singh grew up during a period of intense socio-political upheaval in India. His life, though brief, was marked by a deep-seated desire to free India from British colonial rule, and his actions and writings continue to inspire millions across the globe. This essay explores the life, ideology, contributions, and enduring legacy of Bhagat Singh, providing a comprehensive understanding suitable for students participating in an essay writing competition.

Early Life and Influences

Bhagat Singh was born into a Sikh family with a history of political activism. His father, Kishan Singh, and uncle, Ajit Singh, were prominent figures in the struggle against colonial rule, imbuing young Bhagat with a strong sense of nationalism from an early age. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, in which hundreds of unarmed Indian civilians were killed by British troops, was a turning point in his life, profoundly affecting his outlook towards the British Raj.

Political Awakening and Revolutionary Activities

Singh’s political engagement began with his involvement in the Non-Cooperation Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. However, the suspension of the movement following the Chauri Chaura incident led him to disillusionment with Gandhi’s strategy of non-violence. Seeking a more direct and assertive approach to independence, Singh joined the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA), a revolutionary group committed to the overthrow of British rule through armed struggle.

Singh’s ideology was deeply influenced by European revolutionary movements and socialist ideals. He envisioned an independent India where social justice and equality prevailed, free from not only British rule but also the shackles of caste and religious discrimination.

The Turning Points: Lahore Conspiracy Case and Simon Commission Protest

Bhagat Singh’s revolutionary activities reached their zenith with two significant events: the Lahore Conspiracy Case and the protest against the Simon Commission.

In response to the killing of Lala Lajpat Rai during a peaceful protest against the Simon Commission, Singh, alongside his associates, plotted to avenge Rai’s death. The plan resulted in the killing of John Saunders, a British police officer, mistaking him for James A. Scott, the officer responsible for ordering the lathi charge on Rai. This incident led to Singh’s arrest and the subsequent Lahore Conspiracy Case, which would eventually lead to his martyrdom.

In a daring act of defiance and to protest against the Simon Commission, which was set up by the British to report on the political situation in India without any Indian representation, Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw non-lethal bombs and leaflets inside the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi. They surrendered after the act, using their trial as a platform to publicize their cause and the demand for India’s independence.

Ideological Contributions and Writings

Bhagat Singh was not just a revolutionary by action but also by thought. While in jail, he penned several essays and letters, articulating his vision for an independent India and critiquing the colonial regime. His most notable works include “Why I am an Atheist,” an essay explaining his rejection of religious faith in favor of rational thinking and scientific understanding, and his critique of the capitalist system which he believed perpetuated social injustice.

The Trial and Martyrdom

The trial of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev for the Lahore Conspiracy Case was fraught with legal irregularities, including the passing of a special ordinance (later called the Lahore Conspiracy Case Ordinance) to constitute a special tribunal for their trial, bypassing the normal legal process. Despite widespread national and international support for their release, Singh and his comrades were sentenced to death.

On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, along with Rajguru and Sukhdev, was executed in Lahore Jail. His martyrdom at the age of 23 made him a symbol of India’s struggle for independence. His last words, “Inquilab Zindabad” (Long Live the Revolution), echoed his undying spirit for freedom and change.

Bhagat Singh’s legacy transcends his revolutionary activities; he embodies the spirit of resistance against oppression and injustice. He is celebrated not only for his courage and sacrifice but also for his forward-thinking ideas on social reform, nationalism, and the importance of youth in the political process. Today, Bhagat Singh remains a towering figure in Indian history, his life and work continuing to inspire generations of Indians to strive for a society based on equality, justice, and freedom.

In conclusion, Bhagat Singh’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle is immeasurable. His unwavering commitment to the cause, despite the ultimate sacrifice, showcases the depth of his conviction and the strength of his character. Through his actions and writings, Singh has left an indelible mark on the fabric of Indian nationalism, embodying the ideals of freedom, justice, and social equity. As we reflect on his life and legacy, we are reminded of the enduring power of individual agency in effecting profound societal change. Bhagat Singh’s story is not just a historical account but a perennial source of inspiration, urging us to envision and work towards a better and just society.

On April 8, 1929, Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw bombs onto the corridors of the assembly and shouted “Inquilab Zindabad!” (Long live the revolution!). The bombs were not intended to kill but to jolt the British government into acknowledging the voice of Indian dissent. Following the bombing, Singh and Dutt willingly got arrested to use the court as a medium to propagate their cause for India’s independence.

Bhagat Singh was hanged on March 23, 1931, at the age of 23, but his spirit of revolution lived on, inspiring countless Indians to join the freedom struggle. Today, he is remembered as a symbol of bravery, patriotism, and the spirit of sacrifice. His ideas of social justice, equality, and freedom continue to inspire generations.

Bhagat Singh’s life is a testament to the power of youth, courage, and conviction. His unwavering commitment to India’s freedom and his revolutionary ideas continue to inspire and resonate with the youth even today. His life and sacrifice remind us of the price our forefathers paid for our freedom, making us value and safeguard it more dearly.

Early Life of Bhagat Singh

Bhagat Singh was born on September 28, 1907, in the Lyallpur area of Punjab, now Pakistan. He was the third son of Vidywati and Sardar Kishan, who was also a revolutionary. When Bhagat Singh was born, his father was in prison. When he was younger, he was an excellent student and a naturally friendly person. When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he stated that he wanted to drive the British out from India.

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1912 deeply disturbed Bhagat Singh. He was just twelve years old at the time, and the episode made a deep scar in him. He worshipped a bottle of mud soaked in the blood of the victims that he carried home. He was always drawn to socialism, and he paved the road for political revolutions that no one had imagined. Similarly, the death of Lala Lajpat Rai due to injuries caused by a baton charge filled him with rage and vengeance when he was young.

Singh’s grandfather refused to allow him to join Khalsa High School in Lahore because he disapproved of their British loyalty. As a result of his education at an Arya Samaj institution, Bhagat Singh was heavily inspired by the Arya Samaj philosophy.

He had a clear vision and was committed to achieving his objectives. He dropped out of school to become a member of the Congress Movement. He was an outspoken supporter of the Swadeshi Movement. He would only wear Khadi and he burned all of his foreign clothes.

Bhagat Singh Struggle for Freedom

Gandhiji’s confidence in nonviolence was shaken when he withdrew from the campaign after the Chauri Chaura incident. He began to believe that armed rebellion would be the only option to push the British out of the nation. He was convinced of his belief after studying the lives of revolutionaries in Ireland, Italy, and Russia.

He enrolled at National College, which was patronized by great patriots like Lala Lajpat Rai. He would go to school during the day and talk about the revolution with his friends in the evening. He contacted Sachindranath Sanyal, the leader of the Bengal Revolutionary Party, to join his group. However, he could only join the party on the condition that he be ready to leave his house instantly if necessary. In the wake of his impending marriage, he agreed and left home. He arrived in Kanpur and sold newspapers for a living.

Bhagat joined Chandrasekhar Azad because he solely believed in revolution to get independence. He shaved his beard and wore his hair short and trimmed. He learned to build bombs from Jatin Das in Kolkata after that. They built a bomb plant in Agra. Even though they did not have enough money to eat, they maintained their activities.

Turning Point in his Life

When Lala Lajpat Rai was killed in a lathi charge in 1928, Bhagat Singh and Rajguru mistook John Saunders for Scott, the police officer, and murdered him to avenge his death. In 1929, he and Bakuteshwar Dutt planted a bomb in the Legislative Assembly Hall in Delhi, shouting slogans such as “Inquilab Zindabad”. Their intent was not to harm or kill anybody, but rather to show their opposition to the Defense of Indian Act that was going to be formulated. They surrendered and were sentenced to 116 days in prison.

He noticed injustice between European and Indian prisoners in the jail and led other prisoners on a hunger strike to protest. They requested equality in food, clothes, and other areas. The British were obliged to agree to their demands after a month of the strike.

Finally, on March 24, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru were found guilty of assassinating John Saunders and blowing up the bomb in the Legislative Assembly Hall, and a death sentence was imposed. However, the scheduled time was shifted to earlier, and they were hanged at the Lahore prison on March 23, 1931, at 7:30 p.m.

They were courageous even on that fateful day, competing with one another to be the first to be hanged. They chanted ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ while they were being hung. This is how the brave revolutionaries gave their lives for their Motherland. That day, none of the prisoners ate anything. Their remains were cremated in secrecy on the banks of the Sutlej River.
