‘স্বশিক্ষা অর্জনে বই পড়ার গুরুত্ব’

বিখ্যাত রুশ সাহিত্যিক টলস্টয় এর একটি বিখ্যাত উক্তি হচ্ছে ”জীবনে মাত্র তিনটি জিনিসের প্রয়োজন বই বই এবং বই”। আসলে টলস্টয় ই উপলব্ধি করতে পেরেছিলেন সেই অতি প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসটির। বই আমাদের জীবনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে। বলা হয়ে থাকে যে “ আপনি যখন একটি বই খুলবেন, আপনি একটি নতুন বিশ্ব খুলবেন”। আমি বিশ্বাস করি যে বই মানবজাতির জন্য অনিবার্য হয়ে উঠায় সবাই এই বিবৃতিতে একমত হবেন। বেশিরভাগ মানুষের কাছে বইগুলি তাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনের অংশ। একটি বই একজন সেরা বন্ধুর মতো যা আপনার কাছ থেকে কখনও দূরে সরে যাবে না।

বিখ্যাত লেখক, কবিরা তাদের সমস্ত আবেগ, চিন্তাভাবনা এবং অভিজ্ঞতা পুস্তকআবদ্ধ করেছেন যা আমাদের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এবং উপকারী হয়ে রবে। বইগুলির ধন অক্ষয়, কারণ তারা ক্রমাগত আমাদের জন্য শিল্প, সাহিত্য, বিজ্ঞান এবং দর্শনের সোনার সন্ধান করে। বই প্রজন্ম থেকে প্রজন্মকে জ্ঞান দেয় যা শেষ পর্যন্ত সভ্যতার অগ্রযাত্রায় সহায়তা করে।

বই জ্ঞান দিয়ে ভরপুর, একটি সুখী জীবনের অন্তর্দৃষ্টি , জীবনের পাঠ, প্রেম, ভয়, প্রার্থনা এবং সহায়ক পরামর্শ। আমরা কি কখনও ভেবে দেখেছি বুদ্ধিজীবীরা যদি তাদের জ্ঞানগুলো নথিভুক্ত না করতেন তবে কী হত? সেগুলি ছাড়া আজকে আমরা কিই বা জানতাম।

বই পড়ার মাধ্যমে আমরা নিজেকে নতুন জিনিস, নতুন তথ্য, নতুন ধারণা, কোনও সমস্যা সমাধানের নতুন উপায়, নিজেকে উন্নত করা, কল্পনাশক্তিকে উন্নত করতে এবং লক্ষ্য অর্জনের নতুন উপায় খুজে পেতে পারি।। বই আপনাকে শখগুলি আবিষ্কার করতে বা আপনি পছন্দ করেন না এমন জিনিসগুলি অন্বেষণে সহায়তা করতে পারে।

স্ব-উন্নতি বই পড়া থেকে শুরু হয়, বই পড়ার মাধ্যমে আপনার ভবিষ্যতে আরও ভাল বোঝার এবং আরও ভাল সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া সুযোগ তৈরি হয়। তই বলা যায় যে “আপনি যত বেশি পড়বেন, তত বেশি পড়াবেন”। বই বিহীন একটি বাড়িকে জানালা বিহীন একটি বাড়ির সাথে তুলনা করা যায়।

কিন্তু সেই বইকে আলমারিতে আবদ্ধ করে রাখালে হবেনা। বইকে পড়তে হবে এবং এর মধ্যকার রস আস্বাদন করতে হবে। তবেই একজন ব্যক্তি শিক্ষিত হয়ে উঠতে পারবে। তাইতো প্রমথ চৌধুরী তার বই পড়া পবন্ধে বলেছেন ”সু-শিক্ষিত লোক মাত্রই স্বশিক্ষিত”। আমাদের জ্ঞানচচাঁয় অনভ্যাস যে শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার তুটির জন্য ঘটছে তা সহজেই লক্ষনীয়। আর্থিক অনটনের কারণে অর্থকরী নয় এমন সবকিছুই এদেশে অনর্থক বলে বিবেচনা করা হয়। সেজন্য বই পড়ার প্রতি লোকের অনীহা দেখা যায়। শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে লব্ধ শিক্ষা পূর্ণাঙ্গ নয় বলে ব্যাপকভাবে বই পড়া প্রয়োজন । যথাথ শিক্ষিত হতে হলে আমাদের মনের প্রসার দরকার । তার জন্য বই পড়ার অভ্যাস বাড়াতে হবে । এর জন্য লাইব্রেরি প্রতিষ্ঠার প্রয়োজন।

বই-ই হচ্ছে মানুষের শ্রেষ্ঠ সম্পদ ৷ যার সাথে পার্থিব কোনো সম্পদের তুলনা হতে পারে না। একদিন হয়তো পাথিব সব সম্পদ বিনষ্ট হয়ে যাবে কিন্তু একটি ভালো বই থেকে প্রাপ্ত জ্ঞান কখনো নিঃশেষ হবে না, তা চিরকাল হৃদয় জ্ঞানের প্রদীপ জ্বালানোর মধ্য দিয়ে আমরা আমাদের মনকে সুস্থ ও আনন্দিত রাখতে পারি। একটি ভালো বই মানুষের মনের চোখ যেমন খুলে দেয় তেমনি জ্ঞান ও বুদ্ধিকে প্রসারিত এবং বিকশিত করে মনের ভিতর আলো জ্বালাতে সাহায্য করে।

লাইব্রেরীতে নিজের পছন্দ অনুযায়ী,বই পড়ে যথার্থ শিক্ষিত হয়ে উঠতে পারা যায়। প্রগতিশীল জগতের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে চলার জন্য সাহিত্য চর্চা করা অত্যাবশ্যক ৷ কেননা, সাহিত্যচর্চা হচ্ছে শিক্ষার সর্বপ্রধান অঙ্গ । আর সাহিত্য চচাঁ করার জন্যই আমাদেরকে বই পড়তে হবে। একই সাথে লাইব্রেরীর প্রতিষ্ঠা আবশ্যক । বইয়ের ভেতরে থাকে জ্ঞান অজানা তথ্যের ভান্ডার । যখন আমরা বই পড়বো তখন বইটির ভিতরে থাকা নানা জ্ঞান আমাদের শিক্ষিত করে তুলবে। নন-ফিকশন, বই ই পারে একজন মানুষাকে যথার্থ জ্ঞানবান বানাতে । আর জ্ঞান সবসময় একজন মানুষকে সমৃদ্ধ করে। বই নতুনভাবে অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জন করতে ও মস্তিষ্ককে চিন্তা করতে উপযোগী করে গড়ে তোলে ।

স্বশিক্ষা অর্জনে বই পড়ার গুরুত্ব বইয়ের ভেতরে যে জগতের বর্ণনা থাকে আমরা বই পড়ার মধ্যে দিয়ে সেই জগতটির সঙ্গে সংযোগ স্থাপন করতে পারি। কখনো বই আমাদের একটি ছোট্র ভেকেশনে নিয়ে যায়। কারন পড়ার মাধ্যমে আমরা পৃথিবীর এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্তে ছুটে যেতে পারি। বই এর ভিতরে থাকা নতুন জগতের নতুন চিত্র, নতুন বণনা নতুনভাবে উপলব্ধি করতে পারি। ফলে আমাদের মনন জগতের কল্পনা শক্তি বৃদ্ধি পেতে শুরু করে। শব্দ নিয়েও তাঁর গবেষনা কম থাকে না। আর আমরা বইপড়ার মাধ্যমে সেই শব্দগুলি সহজেই শিখে নিতে পারি. । ফলে কথা বলার সময় সেই শব্দগুলি ব্যবহার করে আমরা আমাদের বাচনভঙ্গিকে স্পষ্ট, সুন্দর এবং তাৎপর্যমন্ডিত করতে পারি | আর যে ব্যক্তি অনেক বই পড়ে থাকেন তিনি অনেক সুন্দর করে কথা বলতে পারেন | এতে ব্যক্তিজীবন উন্নত হয় এবং আত্মবিশ্বাসও বেড়ে যায়। নতুন ভাষা শিখতেও বই পড়া আবশ্যক | সূতরাং, স্বশিক্ষা অর্জনে বই.পড়ার গুরুত্ব নিয়ে রবীন্দ্রনাথের ভাষায় বলতে গেলে বলতে হয় “ধন বল, আয়ু বল, অন্যমনস্ক ব্যাক্তির ছাতা বল আর জ্ঞানি ব্যাক্তির বই বল।
