MY PERSONAL COMPASS ESSAY: The Power of a Smile. I believe in the power of a smile. One of my goals every day is to smile, whether to myself or to someone else, even a complete stranger.

What happens when you ask someone: "What made you smile, today?" Try it with the next person you see with a name tag. Pause a moment, say their name and maybe add yours, and say, "Thank you Jackie. My name is Mark, what made you smile today?" Will something special happen? You can see it right now in your mind's eye, can't you? They smile back...
